Could Bertuzzi be heading to the Flyers?

A report in the Courier Post is claiming another Flyers rumor, and this one involves Todd Bertuzzi. The rumored deal has the Vancouver Canucks sending the power forward Bertuzzi to the Flyers for goalie Robert Esche and Winger and former Canuck, Donald Brashear. The report states that with the Flyer removing $1million from Esche and $1.7million from Brashear off their cap, the Flyers would have plenty of room to get Bertuzzi contract under it.

I myself don’t believe that this trade will happen. The Canucks are hardly getting enough in return for Bertuzzi, who is one of the top power forwards in the NHL. I also don’t want this trade to happen, cause I lost all respect for Bertuzzi after the Steve Moore thing.

this is the most ridiculous rumor i’ve heard in a long time. pitkanen is untouchable. it would be tough to pry carter away at all, let alone in a package with other good pieces. and if by chance that happened, it would be for someone better than bertuzzi.

Storr is good but I do not feel comfortable with him as the back up. The real problem is defense. We could get a defensemen without giving up a goalie. How about Rathje and Therien for a bag of pucks and a used condom

  3. BunchOfLies says:

Yup, right on… and the Habs would be left with only 4 d-men…

  4. Flyaz says:

Yeah me neither. I would be really pissed if they traded Carter, Richards, or Pitkanen for pretty much anything right now…and I don’t want to se Umberger go either but he might….if I see another Oates or Zhamnov trade I’ll hang myself with my Forsberg jersey.

  5. Flyaz says:

Yeah, I’m with you I call BULLSHYTE. Richards will captain the Flyers sooner rather then later, and probably for a long time. If they trade Richards to say I would be pissed is a tad understated.

Are you kidding? I wouldn’t trade Pitkanen straight up for Bertuzzi, so there is no way in hell the others would be thrown in. Face it, Bertuzzi is not going to get any better. His career peaked with two good seasons. Besides, what has he done recently but destroy teams and his own career? I’d rather leave him in Vancouver.

Esche has been hurt all year.

His numbers ARE bad but that is because he played hurt. He is steal right now for the right team.

So who wins this trade? They say, that in multi-team deals, the team who gets the best players wins.

It seems to me these are good players, but no one stands out. Although I’ve always like Mike Grier and I think Labarbera is gonna be a good one. So, personally, I think Vancouver comes out on top.

I just wanted you to know that i had to log in to tell you that your a frigging idiot.

    How about:

    Bertuzzi

    8th rounder

    for

    Marian Gaborik

    Mann Fernandez

    Willie Mitchell

    Brett Burns

    1st round pick

    2nd round pick

option to trade first and second round picks in the next 4 drafts

    and 15 million dollars?

    Sound good?

    THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE

  10. NemiNA says:

i don’t think they would want bonk. maybe higgins and drop bonk and perezoghin. add a 3rd? i don’t know. i think the habs will want to keep Perezoghin. This one isn’t that far fetched. I’ll give ya that!

  11. NemiNA says:

I beleived you up until you mentioned Richards. Richards is better than Carter in a two way situation which is why he’s indespensible to Hitchc*ck.

  12. NemiNA says:

Amen barotha! I serisouly think Samsonov would rule with Hanzeus and Kapanen. I just don’t want Clarke going for someone like Bertuzzi or Murray. That would be HORRRRIBLE

especially since neil little plays in finland.

  14. andyman says:

Canucks don’t want or need a high end goalie. There looking for a defenceman and a cheap back -up until Cloutier can back-up Auld going into the playoffs. Eric Weinrich will be a canuck by thursday. Bertuzzi is going nowhere, neither is Cooke.

  15. FinishingTouch57 says:

Bertuzzi’s Salary is to high , forget this guy. There is a cheaper way to fill this hole.
