Pronger will be restricted after this season, but could become unrestricted if the Blues don’t make a qualifying offer. He’s only 30.

P.S I think that Nick Kypreos visits this site, and read my post on Pronger,then mentioned it on sportsnet the other night. It is too coincidental for me..

I believe it if the Blues completly fall out, but only then. Why? Because the Blues could get a MAMMOTH return for Pronger, and it would shed 8 million dollars salary from the payroll. Weight, Pronger, Tkachuck and Demitra will all be on the move…………if the Blues have NO SHOT at the playoffs. I doubt that will happen.

Maybe as you say, St Louis "is" Pronger but remember the Oilers "were" Wayne Gretzky. Nobody expected him to get traded yet it happened. Furthermore the Gretzkyless Oilers still won another cup.

now, u said it yourself, the blues have a ton of injuries on the blueline which makes no sense at all with trading pronger, he is this teams top defensman, even when macinis was in, pronger was still there #1 defeseman.

if anything they should try and trade scott melanby, for a defensman. and the blues have no intentions of them not making the playoffs.

in my mind they have enough taent to be a top 3 team in the west. blues have alot of talent, and do have good enough goaltending. they also could trade brent johnson for a top 4 defensman.

i dont understand why they never traded johnson?

montreal probably won’t make the playoffs habsfan. so your point is not valid. the leafs are a contender looking for a top D-man, Montreal is nothing at all like that.
