Good article; but I disagree with this part.

I do think that the Sabres would be interested in getting Kovalev, because the Sabres could use a sniper for the playoffs; but, this will not happen unless the Rangers lose a couple more games, and the Sabres continue to win, and if the sabres only have to give up low level prospects or draft picks. Afinogenov and Roy have tremendous potential and we wont trade them away just to “rent” Kovie for 2 months and then have him sign with another team.

Barnaby would be a good fit in Ottawa, I hear They want Bonk out because of his poor 5 on 5 play

I agree with you on “renting” thing. It’s too much of a risk, and that’s why I say he’ll be dealt for a more logical choice in Martin Biron. Meaning… why not? Mika Noronen and Ryan Miller (who will be a FANTASTIC NHL goalie one day) are waiting for the green light. Give it to them, talk to Kovalev, and tell him that you want him back. Meaning, at least you get the chance to sign him and you don’t give up something that isn’t going to affect your club in the future, being that you already have 2 solid, young, and hungry goaltenders.

I don’t see a reason why that trade isn’t plausible. If it’s not for Biron, trade him to LA for Norstrom, but I don’t see that happening with LA in the thick of things, especially after they gave him an extension. I just don’t see it happening.

All I know is that I want the right return for these guys. The fans deserve the rebuilding process. They’d sit there through 3 years of rebuilding to become a contender, rather than 7 years of not showing up to important games and hitting the fairway come April.

I did say that Kovalev for Norstrom is UNLIKELY, someone else wrote that.
