Could the Oilers move Souray to Nashville?

A fan on hockeyfutures.com has actually come up with a fairly legit trade proposal for Sheldon Souray. How about Souray to the Minnesota Wild for fellow defenceman Cam Barker, and the Oilers throw in a draft pick to sweeten the deal?

The Wild want to buy out Barker, the third overall pick in 2004, at one-third of the $3.25 million US left on his contract, spread out over two years, because they have better puck-movers like local boy Jared Spurgeon. Barker is only 33 cents on the dollar because he’s under 26. The Oilers may have to buy out Souray at two-thirds of $4.5 million, spread out over two years.

The fan says the Oilers should toss in their second-round pick (No. 31) too. Sorry, that’s too much. One of their third-rounders would work for me. There’s no way the Oilers can trade Souray, 34, unless they take money back.
