Always be careful who you call a dickhead. Lindros is suing former referee Paul Stewart for calling him a dickhead.

Wow, I used like the young brash beer spitting Lindros.

How did the beast become such a victim?

      • doorman says:

I wonder if Lindros realizes that this will open him up to similar lawsuits, especially if he wins? lol, Now, that would hilarious actually and try to defend yourself in that situation. Just makes me shake my head really.

Tlusty to the Jets for a 3rd and 6th round picks. Tlusty’s contract is up after the season.

He played briefly for Paul Maurice when Maurice was the Leafs coach.

Winnik to the Pens for Zach Sill, a 2nd in 2016 and 4th in 2015. Solid move by Toronto to pick up extra draft picks.

Like the trade for the Leafs, not going to lie wish the years were reversed on the picks but still a good trade. excited about getting weaker sooner too, lol. Wonder what else is on the burners, Lupul, Bozak?

Tlusty, could prove to be a decent pick up for the Jets, cost is decent for them and Canes do well getting picks for a UFA.

The Leafs are without their 2015 2nd so i agree with the years, i wish too they were switched.

But, getting extra picks for a rental, no complaints!

So 3 picks, maybe a 4th if Jokinen is dumped, a prospect and a minor leaguer for 3 UFAs they probably wouldnt have kept at their asking prices. Turned 3 players into 6 assets. One of the 3 they acquired for nothing, the other two they didnt trade anything to acquire.

Its still a lot of hope and pray, but its a good start going forward for Toronto

The romance of the 2015, it’s not 60 picks deep. Nice pick up for Winnik though this signals that players value are inflated by having a nothing cap hit. Winnik isn’t worth what we got for him.

Again, does spell a good trade market for players with bigger contracts.

      Patience? It is a rebuild.

      • doorman says:

the 2nd for this year as we don’t have one is all, not that it’s 60 picks deep. However having 2-2nd’s next year gives ammo to move up with Nashville’s 1st if a player they really love falls. Not promoting trading all picks, just saying it can be used more than one way.

        • leafs_wallace93 says:

Yeah that’s a good point, nice thing about having an extra next year is that we can can still pick up one or more next deadline and start to pile on in the 2nd. If we’re really doing this rebuild thing.

Getting a second round pick would have been nice in 2015…

But, it’s a rebuild, so Toronto now has 2 second round picks next year.

    Good on the Leafs.

  4. doorman says:

wow Francis made out like a bandit with that trade Sekera for a 1st + a prospect

  5. leafy says:

This is not enough. I want a huge blockbuster trade.

Tampa badly needs a defenceman now with Hedman injured. Can the Leafs get a late first round pick for Polak?

    • doorman says:

That would be huge if they could, but not sure Tampa trades it.

      • Steven_Leafs0 says:

They do have 2 late first from the St. Louis deal. We have have to eat salary or include another body but it could be done.

Polak + Jokinen (50% retained) for the lower 1st. Can easily be done without hurting Tampa at all.

        • doorman says:

Very good way to look at it and they get a rental and player with term. It also would give us many more options with the draft. Whether it’s the ability to trade up or even trade out, picking up say a 2nd this year and a 1st next?

    • leafs_wallace93 says:

I’d take a 2nd & 4th, just keep hitting birdies with these depth players.

  7. LN91 says:

Anyone find it a bit odd that the Leafs traded everyone with a week to spare?

  8. LN91 says:

    Essentially…

Franson, Santo, and Winnik brought in a 1, 2, 4, and Leipsic. 2 being UFA pickups last summer.

    • doorman says:

I like the trades, I wish the 2nd was this year as I said, only for fact we don’t have one. However, Nonis did well in my opinion obtaining assets for nothing. He has given Hunter options to work with by obtaining picks and allowing the Leafs to be flexible in moving up or out and back to acquire more picks, no complaints at all and if he can move a Bozak or Lupul we are seeing serious signs of being able to buy into what they are saying.
