LOL, I thought he retired years ago. He has been dead in the league for years. Who cares if he retires? He pulled a Ron Francis and a Mark Messier and played WAY beyond his time.

Bobby Clarke is the second biggest idiot in the NHL.

  5. unknownminion says:

At least Messier and Francis still had some kind of presence on the ice.

I don’t think Bobby will let him go so easily. They do have one major thing in common; their senility.

Next to who? JFJ? I guess I just answered my own question. Sorry for your time.

  7. Aetherial says:

Messier was still productive on a bad team late in his career.

Francis the same actually, until his last season.

  8. Aetherial says:

He won’t retire, someone will offer him a contract and he will take it.

  9. Guinsfan87 says:

    ron Francis was a god.

yeah id expect that from a habs fan lets take a trip down memory lane its 1995 and clarke trades mark recchi (still young) for lecair (Entering his prime) and desjardins (entering his prime) then in 1998 after leting Recchi develop on the habs(worst team in hockey at the time) they trade for recchi when he is in his prime but yeah he must be the second biggest idiot in the nhl hey

I think he will play 1 more year in Philly espically if Priemau comes back

NOPE. He looked foolish in the playoff this year, next just about every other Flyer D-man. I love Desjardins….he and Leclair help bring Philly into perrenial Cup faves/playoff teams after they were traded here, but he has to go. If Kim Johnsson isn’t able to make it back/unsigned (which Clarke commented on in the same TFP article), they can’t spend cash on a guy like Desjardins when they might have to bring in a FA. Clarke and co. know this. They need speed back there to off set slow ass Hatcher and Rathje. Desjardins is not that. They’d be better off going after someone like Spacek (not that I heard that anywhere).
