Devereaux a Leaf

TSN is reporting Boyd Devereaux has signed a 1 year, 2 Way deal with the Leafs.

While this isn’t a blockbuster by any means, it does add some additional forward depth to the team, but, he is expected to be put on waivers, then sent down to the Marlies.

another top prospect who’s career was ruined by injuries. he was a high commodity when he was an oiler. now he isnt more than a minor leaguer at best.

    I don’t get it. Why?

  3. DeathCab says:

I’m guess it’s just because with a bunch of baby leafs now playing for the big club, the farm team is a little shallow, especially as far as veterans are concerned (and veterans can play a major role in the development of kids in the minors)

  4. habswinthecup-again says:

To replace O’Neil perhaps? after they trade him for 2 pucks and an empty water bottle.

  5. Turnbull says:

or maybe they trade him for radek bonk + 100 gold schillings.

  6. navajo says:

The Leafs will still get jipped on that deal. Radek Bonk….

  7. LeafyMcLeaf says:

The Leafs, realizing they are the Stanley Cup favorites, have secured the spot with the addition of super star forward Boyd Devereaux…lmao!

  8. I-BE-LEAF says:

LeafyMcLeaf, realizing he only posts useless comments, has secured the title “waste of space” with the addition of yet another leaf bashing load of crap…lmao!

A smart pickup by JFJ. 3 reasons why Devereaux is a good addition: speed, forechecking and defence. This is purely a depth move by JFJ. He’ll be a great addition to the Marlies and there’s no reason why he wouldn’t be a valuable 4th line call up in case of injuries.

It’s funny how every minor move that is made by JFJ falls under severe scrutiny by the droves of idiots here in Toronto. If he’s not sigining a marquee player or making a Cliff Fletcheresque trade, people ask “why?…..why would you add a player unless he’s a star winger to play with Mats Sundin?”

I know this may shock some of you….but there is now a thing called the salary cap in the NHL and the days of free wheeling and dealing are gone. A GM actually has to develop a team now.

If anyone watched Leafs T.V.’s “After The Horn” after last night’s spanking of Ottawa, some idiot calling himslef “Wayne” called in and suggested (following a 6-0victory) that JFJ trade Kyle Wellwood and JS Aubin for Alexander Ovechkin or Jaromir Jagr – Andy Frost ofcourse hung up on this waste of bodily fluid.

This was a perfect example of the simple-minded Toronto fan that makes the thinking Toronto fans look bad. Please try to think outside the box before making knee-jerk assessments.

Good depth-signing move by JFJ, but it’s truly disappointing how it has to be for one of the NHL’s biggest busts ever. This guy, being drafted at the spot he was in, shouldn’t be reduced to a 4th line or minor league winger. Again, truly saddening.

He’s not that bad but don’t expect much offense from him. He’s got some speed and can play a defensive grinder role but the Wings didn’t need him since they have enough of that type of players this season…then again some players seem to do better with the Wings then with other teams (he was good when he was playing with Hull and Datsyuk) but didn’t do much with Phoenix.

  12. Air33 says:

oh come on. As much i dont like most of Leafy’s comments, that was actually pretty funny

  13. BLUE_AND_WHITE says:

it would be funny if leaf fans were saying “GREAT PICKUP” however, most leaf fans are saying “eh, he’l be a marlie” so his joke is not funny

  14. Turnbull says:

haha,….. yeah i saw that, good for andy hanging up on him!

  15. LeafyMcLeaf says:

The only “joke” right now, is the Maple Leafs current management, which will be gone by American thanksgiving.

another warm body in Toronto. Yipee!!
