Devils still seeking offense
This team is seeking a viable left winger to play with center Travis Zajac and the ageless Jaromir Jagr. Coach Pete DeBoer decided veteran Dainius Zubrus wasn’t the optimal fit there.
Newark Star-Ledger beat reporter Rich Chere notes that Reid Boucher, Joe Whitney and Jacob Josefson have taken turns there lately – but Devils hockey czar Lou Lamoriello figures to do some shopping before the March 5 trade deadline.
Zubrus relocated to the Patrik Elias line, with Damien Brunner flanking the right side. The other two lines feature Adam Henrique centering Ryane Clowe and Michael Ryder and Stephen Gionta centering Ryan Carter and Steve Bernier.
