The New Jersey Devils re-signed veteran defenceman Colin White to an $18-million, six-year deal and signed unrestricted free-agent winger Mike Rupp to a $450,000, one-year deal.The 28-year-old White, who has spent all six of his NHL seasons with the Devils, had three goals, 14 assists and 91 penalty minutes in 73 games last season.

Rupp, who spent last season with Phoenix, played for the Devils for parts of the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 seasons, scoring the Cup-winning goal in ’03 against Anaheim, before he was traded to Phoenix in March 2004.

    This is ol news..this happened last week and reported to HTR. TSN is behind on this due to the Devils being so low key at reporting signings.

    how is it the devils keep signing all these players without trading anyone? I know they aren’t over the cap yet; but there is no way they can go to arbitration with both Brian Gionta and Scott Gomez, combined those two settlements should put the devils over the cap for sure, and they still have 3 or 4 other restricted free agents to sign ( David Hale, Paul Martin, Thomas Pihlman, Ilkka Pikkarainen, Aaron Voros. )

    who do you guys think they will trade, gomez or gionta? any where to? what do they need? I guess they can only afford to take draft picks in return… the oilers have a surplus of picks now
