I agree DG. Maybe it’s because I have the Center Ice package for the first time but I always find exciting games every night. Even my “boring” Devils have play some great games this year (the 2 against both Ott and Colorado come to mind right away).

Tampa should and most likely will take the division. Their next six weeks or so will be quite brutal on them though. Their early schedule was very kind on them playing fewer games total, and many of those at home. With their upcoming schedule, fading is a distinct possibility. But they are good enough, the division is theirs for the taking.

I like the fact both teams play that open style and score a bunch, but their two meetings so far have only produced eight goals total. They were damn exciting to watch though.

Your putting words in my mouth. I never said every low scoring game is a trap game.

As well how can you compare the regular season to the playoffs.

I mean it obvious not only the atmosphere is exciting but the whole sense of the playoffs is great too. I would go to a playoff game in a heart beat, as well watch it.

But I was trying to say that how is a 1-0 or 0-0 game where defence is the key... BOO that is boring garbage. I would rather see a game where its back to back goals and it leaves you at the edge of your seat.

I have seen 2-1 games where I didnt know what was going to happen next. It was fast paced, wide open, and unbelievible.

You can't judge whether the league is "exciting" by glancing at the box scores.

I'll give you two perfect examples:

1. The most exciting game the Boston Bruins have played this season was a 2-1 win over Vancouver.

2. The most poorly played game of the season (in the NHL) was a 5-5 tie with SJ.

If goals are all you care about, how can you watch the playoffs???

Trap games are boring. Every low scoring game is not a trap game.

The Bolts have player five fewer games than the Thrashers and trail them by only one point. The Bolts are still for real. The Thrash fade to second place.

Both teams play great open style offense but the Bolts have the netminding to counter the odd man rushes the other way.

I dont know, the last game I can recall seeing whether at a game or on TV that I enjoyed was Detroit and Edmonton about 2 months ago... when they ended up tying like 4-4 or something like that.

I sat there at the edge of my seat antisipating the next goal. I left the game happy, and that it was a good effort put out by both teams.

I just get tired of night after night as I look across the league and see games that just aren't good.

I keep comparing NFL to NHL but I just think there needs to be more excitment, in the NHL. (That is my only major point)

Maybe it's just me watching from home on TV instead of actually at the games, but the games I've seen haven't been THAT bad. There's still a fair amount of action on either end (even with the trap), and, yes, while it may not be top notch, I can still watch it. Could be just me though.

Are we watching the same NHL hockey?

Ok, maybe there is a difference between watchable and exciting.

HOw do you see a game that is 1-0 or 0-0 exciting. How do you see a team that plays the trap at 1-0 in the first exciting?

Exciting games are 4-3, 6-5. Maybe then its just me, wanting to expect more at a hockey game? I mean would you pay $100 dollars too watch a game like the Chicago, or Pittsburgh. Seriously, this game is boring. I still think the NHL has to market like the NFL does.

I mean there is a difference where no matter the team... its sold out. The only time you see games sold out is when its big named teams coming to a city.

Either way i still think the NHL has to do soemthing before its too late.
