Domi bought out

I think it’s appropriate I write the final Tie Domi article on HTR, as I am one of his few remaining supporters, and he’s always been my favorite player.John Ferguson initiated the rediculous move (which will end up costing MORE then keeping him,) today, continuing a slew of rediculous, expensive moves by John Ferguson, including re-signing Bryan McCabe to a rediculously long contract.

Goodbye Tie…

Rather bold statement…that being that you are one of his “few remaining supporters”.

Tie has many supporters, myself being one of them. However, I am also a realist. Tie just does not fit in the new NHL anymore, nor does he fit the new Leaf template. Now before I go on, one may ask why I would make a statement like that considering that the Leafs may bring a 39 year old Gary Roberts back?

Roberts is an unquestionalble leader who elevates everyones game. While the Leafs will no doubt develop from within, and proboably hot make a huge splash on the free agent market, they will still need vets. Roberts is one who can make a huge difference. Tie could do the same, but usually by fighting, and let’s face it, while a formidable fighter in his earlier years, the last few I saw him in, he got his clock cleaned. His time has simply gone.

I’m really going to miss Tie, he was a fan favorite and bled blue and white. But it’s time to move on.

Thank you Tie for all your contributions over the last 11 years, you have left us with a lot of memories, some good, some bad. I choose to keep the good ones in mind. Like when you cracked Ulf Samuelsson in the mouth, and he went down like a tonne of bricks. Or when you demo’d that fat ass flyer fan who thought he was a tough guy talkin shit in the penalty box area, classic. I’ll remember how you always stepped up to bat for team mates and always took on guys that towered over you and in many cases won the fights. I’ll always remember. Its to bad it had to end this way, but time is up when time is up, the same is true in life.

You’ll always be a fan favourite, but you need to drop this paranoia thing you have seemed to have developed over the last couple years, we like you Tie, you can let your guard down. 28 forever, and whether you decide to play for another team or retire, your contribution will always be respected and remembered. Sawchuk, Mahavolich, Keon, Sittler, Salming, Clark, Gilmour, Sundin, Roberts, Domi. Good luck to you Tie and keep up with those Quiznos commercials, atleast we get to see Tie in some of those, just in case we need a Domi fix.

#28 Tie Domi, Don Cherry’s Rock ’em Sock ’em Allstar, signing off.

Well I thank you for continuing to support Tie. What I hate is these wanna be intelectual Leaf fans like 92-93 and Aetherial who bash Domi to look smart. JFJ did a great job at turning Toronto against Tie so he could buy him out with no consequences.
