I would just like to take this time to say THANK YOU to two people. One Glen Sather, for the obvious. The second is to my wife who bought me Season tickets for the Rangers right after the lockout. What a woman!!!!!!!!

Drury exemplifies hard work and attention to detail. I don't think he will have that much of a problem meshing with Shannahan and Avery. Gomez will not be that tough to figurre out. The top line should be…Straka-Gomez-Jagr. I dont think that teams will double-team Jagr as much now and give Gomez the chance to skate around free. I think Jagr will get 35+ goals as will Gomez. The potential for each to get 100+ points is there and hould be very exciting to watch.

Lets not hand out the Stanley Cup yet.....dont get me wrong im excited about these signings. Lets also not forget that the Rangers have had success the last two years due to good chemistry, hard work, and attention to detail. If Renney can continue to preach this and injuries are avoided, then i really like the Rangers chances.

The Rangers can have Gomez. As I have said before, he tends to take long stretches of play "off," very Randy Moss-esque. I don't expect that to change now that he got his bling. Besides, we all know what happens when Devils become Rangers.

Drury going to New York really pisses me off.

Although, it remains to be seen how these two act around a primadonna like Jagr.

Wait and see.

The Rangers are now commited to $38 million against next season's cap
they still have to sign Shanny, Avery, King Henrik and Prucha

with about $12 million room left it can be done

Just try to figure out who the better teams in the East will be now? Not Buffalo anymore. Devs lost some players and I don't think they will even make the playoffs this season. Penguins are going to be tough. Philly hould be better. Ottawa should be the main competition in the East. Here is how I see the Conference standings at season's end:

1. Ottawa
2. NYR
3. Tampa Bay
4. Pittsburgh
5. Atalnta
6. Philly
7. Montreal
8. Devs/Toronto

any thoughts??

Just because the defense lacks some of the star power big names that some other teams have doesn't make it sub par.

If you look at stats, the Rangers were one of the absolute shut-down defensive teams in the 2nd half and in the playoffs.

The Rangers held Buffalo, a very high scoring team, to the bare bones offensively. They played SHUTDOWN defense and they can do that again. Fedor Tyutin is an up and coming star, Marc Staal may play this year, Dan Girardi has a bright future. I like our defense a lot, and I LOVE our offense.

Rangers are the team to beat in the East this year.
