Nahh... I know I'm very much in the minority with this opinion, but I actually feel the Rangers very much need Rozsival and even Redden on the team this year even though they're both a bit over payed. They are the only veteran D-men on the team this year and are really not anywhere close to being as bad as everyone seems to claim they are, especially Rozsival.

It would be better I believe for the Rangers to unload Rozsival and even Drury (if they decide too?) before the start of next season (like they did Gomez this year) if all of the many young players in the Rangers system keep developing as expected. I doubt Slats will ever be able to trade Redden, but Drury and Rozsival are apreciated much much more by the GM's around the league than by the fans on this site etc. So I could see a lot coming back to NY in return for both. I think if Redden does not have a good season this year, next year he'll be starting the season in AHL Hartford. But it all depends on how the young talent develops this year.

Perhaps Dubinsky because a moveable commodity with Anisimov's play, and you'll be able to package him with Rozsival for something decent after-all. So many teams have improved so vastly this year, it's going to be a ridiculous season.

I have not seen Lisin play at all until this preseason, but he really looks great playing on a line with Anisimov and Grachev. I would love to see all three of them make the team and play on the same line. But realistically Torts forwards lines to start the season will probably look more like this…Kotalik—————–Drury——–GaborikProspal————–Anisimov——Lisin or ParenteauAvery or Higgens—Dubinsky——CallahanAvery or Higgens—–Boyle——–BrashearVorosGrachev and either Lisin or Parenteau will most likely be sent down to start the year in the AHL. But I really hope Torts goes with Grachev-Anisimov-Lisin as the 2nd line.

Wow, I'm sold. I think part of me was remembering NHL 09 stats, ha. I think in the game he's only like 168 pounds or something. He definitely looks ready for NHL action. I think you'll be pleasantly surprized with Lisin also. He is enormous, and ultra fast. I personally thought he was a huge upgrade of Korpikoski.

Yeah, at first I thought the same thing about that being the reason why the Rangers signed Kotalik was to in fact play with Drury. But after watching all their preseason games up to this point, it's become rather clear the Rangers signed Kotalik because he's really really good at shooting the puck off the pass for a one-timer. Personally I feel his ability to shot like he can would go perfect with Prospal's passing skills and Gaborik's ability to draw multiple defenders trying to cover him.As for Anisimov… Already known about him heading into this years training camp was that he was plenty big enough and surly good enough defensively to already play in the NHL. The only question about him left to be answered was, has he developed enough offensively to center one of the top two Rangers lines? Hey, just a quick question for a rangers fan; I have seen a lot of similar line ups suggested by other ranger fans, and I'm curious, wasn't a big part of the reason for acquiring Kotalik so that he could play with Drury, and resume their chemistry from Buffalo. I mean, I realize these lines aren't set in stone, but I thought that was a pretty crucial reason why he was brought in.

Do you really think Anisimov takes the 2nd line center job from Drury. I love Lisin on the second line, but Anisimov ready for that job? Or would they be rolling the top 3 lines anyways, making the placement somewhat irrelevent?

I disagree completely with you that this deal favored the Rangers. Actually when I heard how much $$$ Dubinsky was going to be earning over the next two years, I could not believe he ever decided to hold out. Personally I believe the Rangers would be better off putting Prospal as the #1 center instead of on the wing and having Dubinsky as the #4 center.

Rangers are looking pretty solid with that all solidified. Dubinsky got screwed, and I'm sure if there isn't a bigger contract waiting for Brandon in two years, he will be taking his skillset elsewhere. Sather shouldn't cheap out on the good up-and-coming talent. Still, the roster looks pretty impressive:
