Ducks Shopping 2nd Pick, Federov Stays a Duck
It looks like the rumour of the Ducks taking Gilbert Brule at #2 in the draft will not happen. In fact, the Ducks might not take anyone at #2.
Brian Burke is reportedly shopping the Ducks’ draft choice hard, saying that they have several young players ready to step in for them, such as Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf, Joffrey Lupul, and Ladislav Smid. There haven’t been any offers for the choice yet, but look for several teams to try to move up.
The Flyers may move up to select forward Bobby Ryan, a friend of GM Bobby Clarke, one prospect the Ducks may select if they cannot trade it. Other prossible picks, include forwards Benoit Pouliot and Brule, and defenceman Jack Johnson.
The offers will have to brew up soon, before the draft, but look for them to stew!
