Eagle considering flight plan (Toronto Star)

According to the Toronto Star, Eddie Belfour’s days, as have been speculated, may be over.

The Leafs, yesterday, added Jean-Sebastian Aubin, to their list of call ups. Something they haven’t done all year.

Also, at Leafs practise yesterday, was JF Racine.

Some would think this internal movement is a bit weird, if the trade deadline wasn’t this Thursday.

“I don’t want to be anywhere where I’m not wanted,” Belfour said when asked whether he would waive his clause. “I want to be where I’m wanted.”

Rumours have him being sent to the Incredible Edmonton Oilers

My personal opinion on the Eagle making his nest in the Gateway to the North?

He would be a good asset to the Oilers for a playoff run this year.

This year only.

He’s still a great goaltender, though his stats show him to be having a poor year, I think a great deal of this has to do with lack of support from the horrible Leaf defense.

I think with Pronger, Smith, Staios, you know, professional defensemen, Belfour would be revived, and he would thrive.

Besides, he sort of owes it to the Oil, as in the past, he was responsible for a few playoff knockouts, with Dallas.

SIDE NOTE:

On the Darcy Tucker rumour front, here’s what he has to say:

“It doesn’t make any sense,” Tucker said. “I make $1.6 million and I have a year left on my deal. What would you get for me? I’m sure there are teams that would like to have me, but it doesn’t make any sense. Why would you trade a guy who is making $1.6 million who would probably take less money to stay in Toronto?”
