Edmonton Oilers offered Ilya Bryzgalov to the Minnesota Wild, Russo reports

Oilers GM Craig MacTavish is open to trading at least Bryzgalov at the deadline, which might well mean Bryz isn’t in the Oil’s future.

Either the Oilers aren’t that keen on Bryz or Bryz isn’t keen to stay here, or a bit of both.

Bryzgalov has been must OK with the Oilers this year, posting a .907 save percentage, which is about in line with his save percentage in Philadelphia the previous two seasons.

His play does not scream out “keeper.” He’d be unlikely to get much in a trade, but one can see why MacT would be open to moving him.

As for Bryz’s competition in net in Edmonton, Ben Scrivens has been hot this year with a .940 save percentage in seven games with the Oilers.
