As teams around the Rangers retooled, swapped young talent, and signed veteran depth, a feeling of urgency has come to the forefront of front offices all around the league. This year, it seems the best deals are going to be made sooner rather than later, and surely Gorton has taken note.

Which is why it’s imperative for him to make declarations on what he has now, and what the goal of the team is in his first year under his own stewardship (or at least with him holding the lone manager’s title).
