Ya exactly. When young forwards struggle, maybe they're not scoring so it kind of hurts, but when young d-men struggle it usually is a bigger deal because it results in goals against, so they're just more under the microscope by nature.

Now, if guys like Schenn, Myers, Del Zotto continue to struggle more often then playing well, and it continues until the ages of 24, 25, 26, then it might be time to suggest they might not be "it". But at 22, a 10-15 game slump is not a big deal.

Well yeah, I'm just speaking for Columbus sake.

Washington should continue to draft Russians with their first rounders.

Toronto should not draft Europeans at all with first rounders.

Just some correlations you see over the years.

I wouldn't worry about it either. Myers was in a similar situation in the early part of last year, before he bounced back. This year he finds himself struggling through the start of the season again, but he had 2 goals last night and there's no denying that he's talented and will probably bounce back and finish with another strong season.

Michael Del Zotto, had a great first season but then struggled last year, he's bounced back and has had a good start to 2011-2012. A lot of young defensemen go through that. I wouldn't worry about it.

And that's a pretty sweeping generalization for players. There have been a ton of successful players to come out the 4 groups you mentioned.

Rough, rough drafting. The three best players they drafted were arguably Nash, Voracek and Klesla.

Voracek could take the next step this year. He's certainly primed for it in Philly. As a 50 - 60 point winger they could do worse at picking 7th overall.

But overall I agree, just not good drafting.
