Flyers secure two of there young…

The Flyers have reportedly signed Williams and Somik according to PhiladelphiaFlyers.com…

“Williams’ is a one-year deal, while Somik inked a two-year deal.”Why is Justin’s contract just one year? Because of the CBA lock-out? Or is he planning on having a stellar year and commanding more money? Can’t say much about Somik, I liked what he did, if he could just convert on some of those nice defensive plays he makes around the offensive zone. Good signing or inconsequential?

Justin Williams is always mentioned in trade speculation with the Flyers and he seems to be protected. I don’t quite see what the front office sees.

What I see is inconsistent play and BAD giveaways all over the ice.

Maybe he is just green but he is NO star yet. If he would like to prove himself this year – go right ahead. Score us 30 goals and get a Gagne sized contract (or less because of the CBA).

More likely is LeClair plays on a top line (despite the BS Clarke and Hitch were saying about him being a “checker”) and William moves down the depth chart.

In the event that a player like Jerome Ignla makes it back to the trading block – let me be the first guy to call American Express Platinum Travel to book his flight to Calgary (along with other players) to land a proven, young sniper.

What everyone sees in this guy is potential. He is still very young he’s like 23 or so, so everyone knows he can only get better. I mean sure he’s no super star but he can hold his own and score some goals. Without injuryhe should be fantastic this season. Somik is also another shining light waiting to come through. He was out way to long to determine what he can do, but he scored like 8 goals in the few weeks he was back at the end of the season so we’ll see what he does.

    Flash in the pan…

Maybe they got tired of waiting for all the ‘supposedly’ good offensive talent to develop. Looks like a Brian ’30-goal potential, but never achieved it’ Savage type of player. What’s so damn special about him anyhow? I’ve seen him play and just don’t see much. Sure, he’s got some talent…but he’s no Simon Gagné.

A 1 year contract to see if he’s worth keeping?

The thing with Williams is he’s starting to show heart. When he came back from injury he was all over the ice. It was as if he was never injured. The Flyers organization are waiting to see if his potential skills develope. Flyers fans always complain that we trade away our youth for over priced vets. Not this time.

The kid is only 21. What were you doing at 21. Not playing in the NHL.

He should have played for the phantoms for at least a year.

He was brought up to fast.

WILLIAMS ONLY DESERVES ONE YEAR HE’S FULL OF POTENTIAL BUT HE NEEDS TO BE GRITTIER AT TIMES HE SEEMS LIKE HE BELONGS ON THE FLYERS TOP TWO LINES:MAYBE A ONE YEAR CONTRACT WILL INSPIRE HIM TO HAVE A CAREER YEAR AND BREAK THROUGH WITH SOME OF THAT POTENTIAL HE SURE CAN SKATE WHEN HE WANTS TO THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE MOTIVATION
SOMIK WAS GREAT WHEN HE PLAYED HE DOES EVERYTHING BUT SCORE (BAD AIM) HE HAS A RECURRING GROIN PROBLEM BUT HITCHCOCK LOVES HIM

DIDN’T YOU LOSERS JUST LOSE RAY WHITNEY AND REPLCE HIM WITH A PIECE OF LINT??
