This guy must be crazy. Gainey is always working on something and i have heard everything from him shipping off Ryder and Halak to Higgins and Komisarek. Well wake up people montreal is not giving away any of their young prospects and the future of this team. Gainey will be looking to trade up to get Esposito if nessecary, and will also be looking for a big name goal-getter. Gainey is a mastermind just look what he traded to get kovalev and to get rid of samsonov. For Kovalev he gave up Josef Balej and a 3rd Rounder, and he was able to dump samsonov for a lower salary and even get a prospect. Don't be surprised if Gainey pulls a few tricks out of his sleve in the next few days.

Yeah, Montreal shouldn't make a trade, because we all know guys like Briere, Lecalvier and Crosby are just waiting for UFA status so they can sign at cost with the Habs. Then Montreal will a Stanley Cup, but this time they'll do it with a coach that can read & write.

If Montreal needs to trade good prospects to get good players i suggest they look Plekanek and Kostysin`s way.Why?I dont think these will be impact players that will help them win the cup.I`m a sens fan and we had lots of soft european players for a long time and boy are they fast and can they play but come playoff time and being hit a few times and they magicaly dissapear.Its ok to have players like that but give them lots of grit around them.In my opinion the young talent you have to keep are:
Higgins,Komisarek,Latendresse,Price,Lapierre(gritty) and Chipchura.(size)
I would be patient with Halak,he is young and promissing,wont be as good as Price but might either be a strong backup for Price in the future or better and therefore would bring more value in return.
