Gagne Re-signs

(Sept. 11th) – As TFP first reported, the Philadelphia Flyers have signed rising star Simon Gagne to a 2-year contract. The deal is worth $2.1 million this year and $2.6 million in 2003-04.
“We think Simon is one of the better young players in the game,” said Flyers GM Bobby Clarke. “He has the chance to be a terrific player for the Flyers.”

Excellent contract. Flyers get what they want to pay, $2.1 and Gagne gets his share the second year, $2.6. The year after that, if he scored 30 goal seasons then you’ll start seeing $6 million dollars as a request. UNLESS the NHL decides to have a stricter rule on players.

Thank God, Bob Clarke made a smart move for a change. He didn’t overpay him either, (cough cough) Iginla.

Tanguay is shitting him self now seeing this, and knowing he could have cashed in close to this, if he didn’t have such an off year last year.
