That stands to reason. And the Leafs have decided to have Rielly stick around.

  2. doorman says:

I am still on the fence with keeping Rielly and not because I don’t think he can play. I just don’t want a good rookie season to lead to higher expectations and regressing, example, see Luke Schenn

  3. leafs_wallace93 says:

Rielly, Hurtl, Monahan, Jones, Barkov, MacKinnon… how great is this year rookie class?

  4. leafy says:

Now Lupul is hurt. If it’s a fracture, then no Lupul for 2 months.

    • mapleleafsfan says:

It’s actually so brutal how these are avoidable injuries with those skate guards. Kulemin and now lupul from injuries in practise is pretty frustrating.

      • leafy says:

Luckily, it looks like a bruise. He’s listed day to day.

        • mojo19 says:

He’s expected to play tomorrow, thank God.

          • doorman says:

Ya, Carlyle seemed pissed about it when talking to the media. Said whole team has been fitted but a few guys still refuse to wear em. Sounds like it will not be addressed as much as dictated now.

            • reinjosh says:

I’d be pissed too. Kulemin and now Lupul have both been injured to some extent in a friggin practice. Not even a game. And both because they wouldn’t wear a safety shield. It’s just dumb.

You’d think that having one of the hardest shooting players in the league shooting at you in practice might cause you to take precautions. Especially after you broke your arm from one of those shots.

Guess not. Glad he’s ok though.

I am so fired up for Lupul-Kadri-Clarkson.

                • doorman says:

Ya I am trying really hard to not be too excited. I hope Clarkson just remembers exactly why we signed him, no more no less is what I expect.

                  • mapleleafsfan says:

I agree. I’m not expecting crosby out there, but anyone to help our cycle / get dirty in the corners and bang in a couple goals is a welcome addition. Clarkson was 4th in shots last year. That will be a nice bonus considering our shooting totals.

                    • Gambo says:

Might have to hold that excitement for a Lupul-Kadri-Clarkson line haha. I just want to see a game with a full lineup, no injuries! On paper their offense looks unreal.

  5. toronto77 says:

Well the leafs probably didn’t deserve to win, but the refs fucked them over late in the game, weak trip call on Gaborik and a way worse trip on Kadri that was not called. Is there a mob outfit in columbus that paid off the refs?

  6. leafs_wallace93 says:

Have the Leafs ever deserved a win? Toronto is so self defeating cynical that unless the Leafs dominant the Blawkhawks and Pens during the same game it’s not a real win. CBJ beat the Leafs after nearly a week off, bfd. Clarkson didn’t even get a hat trick so he’s a bust I guess.

It is refreshing not to already be talking about the deadline or draft day though.

  7. leafy says:

Great third period by the Leafs tonight. That’s the best we’ve seen them defensively since they played Boston in April.

Clarkson, Bolland and Raymond. Brilliant job by Nonis adding those three dudes.

How about Reimer baby? I’m telling you, this guy never gets any respect. What more does he need to do to convince people?
