Georges Laraque Available?

Last night, radio host Michel Villeneuve and ex-referee Ron Fournier, discussed the possibility to see George Laraque traded to the Montreal Canadiens. During “Les Amateurs de Sport” they mentionned that Kevin Lowe, General Manager of the Edmonton Oilers, had offered Big George to the rest of the league, considering that he isn’t in his team’s plans anymore.

Even tough Laraque already had mentionned that he would never play in Montreal because of the enormous media presence, he would now be more enclined to leave Edmonton and become the much needed Habs enforcer. Villeneuve and Fournier thought that the Oilers wouldn’t ask for much in exchange for Laraque and his 1 million dollar contract. Maybe a 4th round draft choice or low ranked player in the Montreal organization could be sufficient.
