give the kid a chance

With the recent injury to Toskola , and both raycroft and clemmenson playing worse then trevvor kidd did in 03/04. Why not give Pogge a chance, the kid has been playing well for the marlies this year with a 12-2-4 record and a .909 save percentage why not give him a chance to show us what he gots. What do you guys think?

I have mixed feelings about this one.

Yes, Pogge might play better than Clemmenson and Raycroft, but do we really want to risk shattering his confidence by putting him in goal on a bad team?

This year is a write off, so let's look forward into next year.  Finishing lower in the standings would actually be a blessing, i.e., we'll get a higher draft pick and might actually see some changes made in the front office.

At this point I'd give him one game to see what he has.

Well said Leafy.  I think if we gave Pogge a shot at playing it would be a tease since Toskala is close to returning to game action.  With young players such as Pogge you can't risk their confidence.

I think the Leafs should keep Pogge in the AHL for the rest of this year at least and call him up when he has a fair chance of playing a decent amount of games.

The problem is JFJ has pilfered away all our draft picks…we could finish dead last for the next 4 years i think and not have a 1st round pick…way to go JFJ!
