what exactly makes Jonathan Bernier so good? Besides all the hype. He hasn't done anything yet. He's had a couple chances to be the starter in the last couple years but that's not gonna happen. Let's not be the team that over pays for another young back up goalie.

Now a season invested in the Monster and Reimer. Not that they're bad goalies, they both have potential, but if were making moves for a goalie, why would you want another baby?

I'd do it but I seriously doubt LA would. Grabovski and Gustavsson are both UFAs, if they both walk the deal becomes Bernier for McKegg. We may have to offer a conditional 1st in 2013 (if both players walk, LA gets the pick)

If Los Angeles lose out on the Nash and Carter sweepstakes, the next best forward available could be Mikhail Grabovski.

Trade Mikhail Grabovski, Greg McKegg and Jonas Gustavsson to the Los Angeles Kings for Dustin Penner and Jonathan Bernier.

too much. schenn, gus, 1st would be perfect for carter and mason. remember we are doing clb a favour by taking carter's contract.

Yea I guess if he's a cap dump you can reduce the value of carter a bit... Maybe take Kadri or the first out... Either way I'm fine with it.. If we could get McNeill, having Colborne and McNeill gives us solid forward prospects... When the time comes, drop bozak and they can come in as 2/3 centers... That's some serious size at center. 6'3, 6'2, 6'5... Plus with the top 6 I stated earlier, there isn't really room for kadri anyways.. Bozak is the only player that could be seriously upgraded and hopefully McNeill/Colborne can do that (if we could get parise, if not we still need another LW).

But I guess if we keep kadri/1st we could use them to target a real goalie.. Apparently the leafs were asking about backstrom (from hockeybreak, take it how you will)... Big cap hit for 2 years but he's definitely a solid starter.

Imagine Carter/Parise/Kessel/Lupul/Kulemin in the top 6... pretty much 3 players who will definitely hit 30+, and 2 who will break 20 (assuming Kulemin is just on an off year, but with parise and Carter he must be able to hit 20) and can possibly hit 30 too... AHH MAKE IT HAPPEN BURKE! lol

I know he played center a bit when NJ had injuries. I don't think he is still playing center.

I figured you added him to help intice Howson to trade carter here, taking that large contrat off his hands, though I still think thats too much for Carter, IMO

Nah I definatly thought Parise was a center for one reason or another (long day, company quarterly review..) BUT I like the way you put it instead Still think were better off with Grabo/Parise!

Added Mason because he can't really be much worse than what we are working with. He's a big boy which Allaire likes and can hopefully mold and he was fantastic in his rookie year, so who knows he may be able to bring it back.. Change of scenery may help although coming to toronto would be scary as hell for him. If it works, amazing, if not, his nhl career ends really close to home (he's from oakville).

Fcuk it, we need a new look and I'm gonna combine everything I've been whining about for a while.

Schenn, Gus, kadri, 1st for Carter + Mason

Aulie + 2nd for Ott

Gaustad for a 3rd + maybe a b prospect

Grabo for McNeill + 2nd

Lombardi to Phoenix for anything (might not happen now they have vermette)

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel

Connolly - Carter - Kulemin

Macarthur - Gaustad - Ott

Brown - Steckel - Armstrong

Off season make a huge push for Parise, dump connolly and Komisarek for cap reasons... If it happens the top two lines would be

Parise - Carter - Kulemin

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
