Habs fans need to chill out…

Montreal fans are continually pleading for Gainey to trade away their key players despite the fact that the habs are the 8th ranked team in the entire NHL and 4th in their conference. They are, apparently, impossible to please. Who goes? Who to keep? Can we get Marleau? Is there any way we can get the best players in the league for the players we don’t want?

Seriously… this is ridiculous. Our team is 4th in the East. Our team is 2nd in a tremendously difficult and competitive division. Have you seen how Buffalo is playing? Have you noticed that the Canadiens have beaten them? I know you have, because we all watch all the games. They are 8th in the entire NHL. And you cry and cry for trades.

We absolutely need to shut up about trades and who we want off the team. We should be standing behind these players like fans are supposed to. Especially as long as this team is winning like it is (which is a lot this season), no one on this team is going anywhere. Why on earth would Bob Gainey decide to make changes to a team that is winning? Why? To appease fans? He doesn’t do that… he doesn’t care about whether or not you think Bonk sucks because as long as his team is winning, he’s done his job.

I actually just read an article that said we need to trade Ryder because he only scores goals when he doesn’t need to. That’s the most ridiculous thing ever. All goals are welcome… they must be, because we’re all crying for more goals even though the habs are winning. We have to be the only set of fans in the entire NHL that cries like babies about our favorite team sucking WHILE THEY’RE WINNING.

In closing, Souray is awesome, Ryder is great even though he doesn’t score 400 goals a game… Samsonov plays hard every shift but the puck just isn’t bouncing his way, and Aebischer is staying until at least the trade deadline and, PROBABLY, even later.

I can’t be the only hab fan who is tired of seeing it’s fans rag out on the team. You can’t love the team that much if you hate everyone on it. If you want a new team so badly, just go “support” another team.
