Do you know anything of another Habs movie…The Rocket-The Maurice Richard story? It came out in Canada in April…but being that I live in the states, I could not find it as it was not released here. Im hoping to find out when it will be released on DVD so I can somehow track it down.

    Ya, it’s actually really good.

I think this is kind of gay…….. and I’m a Habs fan.

only 5 mill. a low budget movie…..no good

  5. LuckyLuc98 says:

Instead of just throwing 5 mil away, take that money and spend it on a deserving player, (if the cap allows it) and that will be a present from the organization to the fans not a stinkin low budget movie. LEts stop praising the past and start by getting the habs back on track!

  6. SoBaZzZz says:

Low budget? 5 million$ for a canadian movie is not low budget. This ain’t no Spielberg production we’re talking about. Don’t expect anything to explode, or Tom Cruise.

  7. SoBaZzZz says:

Even if they wanted to put 5 millions on the team they have no more cap space, so why are you complaining?

  8. HotDogAllDressed says:

Emilio Estefez will play Patrick Roy and Burt Reynolds as Bob Gainey and maybe try to throw in Danny Devito somewhere

  9. woodsco85 says:

Emilio Estevez, the Mighty Duck Man! I was like EMILIO!

You people are idiots. Five Million is more than enough to make a movie. You know what costs money? Explosions and CG animation. You know what doesn’t need those things? A *****ing movie about hockey.

Kevin Smith made Clerks for like $30,000. It’s one of my favorite movies. It’s good. 30,000 does not equal 5 million.

The Canadiens are the most storied team in all of the NHL. You should be happy to celebrate their centennial with them like all good habs fans will. Quit *****ing about “improving the team.” The team is fine. Not all teams can be all-star teams. Jesus christ just be happy with what your team does for once. *****ing support them. Fans support their teams right?

Being a malcontent won’t get the habs a cup any quicker. Just go to a movie about your favorite team and enjoy it. I guarantee that you won’t even miss explosions.

The movie is released on DVD on Sept. 19th. I’m waiting for it’s release as well.

  14. PhanufRoxs says:

its wont go towards the cap for the NHL

  15. CaptainInsano says:

“Hollywood star Kevin Spacey is currently in negotiations to star in an upcoming Canadian film project.

Because Spacey’s salary demands are expected to tie-up most of the five million dollar budget, the simple plot will revolve around Spacey sitting by a campfire, telling his grandchildren various stories about the famous Montreal Canadiens hockey franchise.

Expected to contain numerous flashbacks, the bulk of the film is expected to be comprised of digitally altered footage from Jean-Claude Van Damme’s 1995 box office hit, “Sudden Death”.

Atleast someone around here has brains.

I can’t believe people are *****ing that they should spend the $5mil on players and charity. Does anyone here actually think the Habs need money to pay for players? Last I checked, they’re right underneath the cap limit. Charity? Well, you see, movies generate something called revenue, which can, ultimately, be used for many purposes, one of which being charity.

Are you a *****ing moron? 5mil for a Canadien movie is LOW BUDGET. Fact is, a large percentage of movies are made in Canada now a days because it is cost effective, doesn’t mean they cost 5 million, they’re still way more expensive then that! 5mil for a movie even in canada, is low budget.

  18. oop007 says:

    Terry Bradshaw = Bob Gainey

    Koivu = Toby McGuire

  19. oop007 says:

Clerks was a black and white movie, not only that but 90% of the movie took place in a convenience store. That cost 30 grand? I could do that for like cost of a tape and good camera.

Not nearly enough money if you expect to get Russle Crow to play Saku Koivu or Patrick Swayze / Rob Low to play Guy Lefleur. Too bad Montreal never had anyone on the team from Boston… Dennis Leary would be perfect to cast for cracking jokes on the team bus, locker room, etc.

Anyone know if the film is in english or french???

yo on a related topic anyone know if that movie the rocket was good?

  22. ECWHSWI says:

American productions made in Canada cost more than 5 Mil… Canadians productions, usually not…

    see the difference ?

  23. jimirude says:

that really depends on the format of the film… if it’s a do*****entary that’s a pretty huge budget. If it’s a feature film then yeah it’s low budget. but that doesn’t necessarilly mean it will suck.

  24. SoBaZzZz says:

    It’s awesome, worth the purchase.

  25. SoBaZzZz says:

I don’t have to call anyone a moron, your making yourself look like one pretty much by yourself.

  26. SoBaZzZz says:

    oh wait.. leafs fan right?
