I am not referring to anyone here, but to potential readers as I have heard this a few times of late, and has become annoying.

Hockey is our game, it can’t be questioned.
Not meaning we own it, but all Canadians love it.
It’s a game we like to play and watch.
We didn’t invent the game though.
I’ve heard some dumbasses on the radio, and on talkshowes say that. I repeat we “did not invent the hame of ice hockey”, it’s origins are based in Scotland.
Although Canada should get all the credit for developing it, to the game that you see today.

As we are clarifying that, I’ll throw in that basketball was invented by a Canadian, working in the US.

So both countries have a claim.

Funny how fans now a days argue for the sake of arguing and neglect to know what they are talking about.

One guy on the subject of wether the teams based in Canada would have a chance of surviving said, ” It’s Canada’s game, we invented it, we should keep our teams”.

Sorry for the rant but I think this topic was a good spot too mention it.
