Excellent move!! The most important move that Don Waddell has made as GM thus far. Finally, Atlanta has a coach who knows how to teach team defense. You will see Atlanta's goals against take a nose dive in the next year. Also, watch for Atlanta to make a pitch for Martin Lapointe of Boston - someone Hartley coached in juniors and was very high on.

This is a huge challenge for Hartley, but I think he will do well. He's a good teacher with the young guys and he will have high draft picks to work with from past years and from the 2003 draft as well. Suddenly, Atlanta's future looks much brighter.

While this could indeed become true, don't think it is right at this moment. Atlanta's GM said he is still considering two candidates. Now, he could be blowing smoke about that but it seems unlikely. Thrashers TV announcers talked with him and one or two others involved, and the very distinct impression is that Hartley isn't the coach, yet.

He may well be named coach, but this report is somewhat premature. Guess we will know in a few days.

This should be interesting… I wonder what Hartley can do for this team… I mean, being the Coach of a team who has recently won the cup does not necessarily mean he made them that way, there are lotsa guys who have come up to the league with excellent credentials who have flopped (ex: Tom Renney), now… you get a guy like Hartley coming to the NHL to coach the Avs who had recently won a cup and everyone thinks he’s an amazing coach to get such a great team to win… “Oh my goodness” some people are saying “how could he stoop so low as to coach a losing team”. My opinion is that Hartley is about to prove whether he really is a great coach or not…

i can see that. Heartley is good with young players and will help out atlantas defence problems.Expect Kovalchuck and heatley to be even better under heartey.

Just one.

TFP reported that Amonte VERBALLY agreed to a Rangers contract, but in order for that to happen, the Rangers would have had to trade Nedved.

TFP was NOT THE ONLY ONE TO report that. ABC and other sources also followed it up and everyone was on the right track if the Rangers did actually trade Nedved. They could NOT trade Nedved so nothing happened.

That was ONE story.

As for the Lapointe and Tanguay thing, TFP was not the first one to report that.

What you don't mentioned, which makes you look quite foolish, is that TFP first reported about Guerin, Holik, Chelios, Joseph, they were first to report about Sutter coaching the Flames.

So, way to make yourself look like a total jack ass.

No trade rumors are really credible, since 95% of trade rumors never actually happen.
