Hawks looking to move Khabibulin?

Tim Sassone of the Chicago Daily Herald raises speculation that the Hawks may entertain offers for Nikolai Khabibulin.

Apparently Khabibulin has not been playing up to expectations in Chicago which is raising speculation that hawks GM Dale Tallon may begin to entertain offers for the former all star goalie. It is noted that it may be very difficult to find a taker for Khabibulin because of his sizable contract however HTR notes that a team with salary cap space who is in need of a top goalie to help push them over the edge may be willing to take a risk. It is noted that one of the problems with trading away Khabibulin is that the Hawks would then need a goalie although it is possible that Lalime and Crawford be able to do an adequate job in goal.

They've been trying to move him for years.

  2. MR40 says:

Give him to Toronto. There going to try to get another goalie at the draft, so they should just get one now too.

  3. BLUE_AND_WHITE says:

the goaltender market is bad now. too many available gaolies, not enough takers.

I hear Vancouver would like to trade them Morrison for Khabby.
Vancouvr thinks Morrison is first round pick worthy but they want to fore go that so they can acquire another goalie to ruin.

Hey if we didn’t have both Raycroft and Toskala (And Toskala wasn’t playing well) I would love to have the Bulin Wall.

Bulinwall will most likely head back to the Lightning or the Kings.Possible deal would look a little something like this.

    To Lightning-Bulinwall6.7mill,Seabrook1mill,and Skille
    To Blackhawks-Richards7.8mill and Holmqvistmill

Helps both teams out big time the Lightnight get back there wall in net and a pretty good Dman in Seabrook which they need a decent prospect in Skille, and the Blackhawks get there #1 C in Richards and a decent goalie in Johan.

    To Kings-Bulinwall and Skille
    To Blackhawks-Frolov3mill and Bernier

Kings just might make the playoffs if they can pull this trade off but Lightning trade looks more realistic then anything.

Huge salary and he's not as good as he used to be.  That's why Chicago is trying to dump him.

  8. leafy says:

Chicago is stuck with him like luggage.

Why the hell would the Kings trade the Future of the Franchise for Khabibulin, who is 34 years old and has seen better days? Makes ZERO sense for the Kings. a 19 year old up and comer for a 34 year old has been. I know Khabibulin could turn it around for ONE year maybe two but Bernier's going to be a #1 for years.

Vancouver ruined Luongo? His best season was in Vancouver…

Morrison is can fetch a 1st rounder. Your just a dumb ass and can't realize that some team's would doing anything to improve there team even a tiny bit (long term giving away a 1st rounder would kill any team, but I mean short term). I'm not saying I would ever give up a 1st round pick for him if I was a GM, I don't even think most teams think he's even worth an early 2nd rounder, but there are so many desperate teams like Atlanta, maybe now Columbus (looking for a 1-2 line centre, and this is likely there only chance to make the playoffs for a few years, so might overpay for a player like Atlanta did last year).

You know what? If i was Jay Feaster I would jump all over that trade.
