Hawks show interest in many players

The Chicago Daily Herald is reporting that there are many players such as Mike Sillinger, Bill Guerin Nik Antropov and Chris Neil who the Hawks will look to target before the trade deadline.

It is also reported in the article that it is now highly unlikely that either Khabibulin or Havlat will be traded. Sassone indicated that the goaltending has been a huge strength for the Hawks this season.

Why would Chicago want Chris Neil? Hes garbage.

  2. leafy says:

  3. KingCanada says:

If the Leafs trade with Chicago Id LOVE to have one of eigther Kyle Beach, Akim Aliu or David Bolland plus a nice draft pick!

  4. LeafsNation91 says:

Not that I am a bias Leaf fan, but isn't Antropov the only player of those 4 the only player worth fighting for. Like Chris Neil is bad, Mike Sillinger is injured, and has done othing, and Guerin is old.

    Points: Antropov 35
    Goal: Guerin 14
    Assits:Antropov 22
    =/-: Sillinger -5
Also, age is another story, Guerin will be 39, Sillinger 38, Neil, 30 and Antropv will be 29. If Chicago is willing to offer a good prospect, or draft pick, wouldn't it be better to find a player that they can actually keep and not retire at years end. I can see Antropov re-signing with the team he is moved to.
  5. Sharxfan20 says:

    How about:

    Antropov for Skille

  6. LeafsNation91 says:

    thats what i was thinking

  7. mitchamac says:

I would rather see  Kyle Beach

  8. I-BE-LEAF says:

Aliu has too much attitude and hasn't even produced a point a game since being traded to the Sudbury Wolves.  Would much rather see Beach in a deal.

  9. Bure96 says:

Chigaco will be a very busy team at the trade deadline.

I think they will hang on to Havlat for the rest of the year and let him walk in the off season, but they will trade Khabibulin.

Chicago will be looking to acquire a young roster player for Khabibulin, not draft picks.

    To Colorado: Khabibulin
    To Chicago: Hensick, Budaj

Colorado gets their #1 goalie, and someone who can take them somewhere in the playoffs, while Chicago gets a good backup goalie, and a good young forward who will play Chicago's 3rd line.

To Toronto: Jack Skille, Montreal's 2nd rounder
    To Chicago: Nik Antropov

Don't tell me this isn't a reasonable offer. Like we've said before Antropov is worth either a 1st rounder, and mid level prospect, or high end prospect, and lower draft pick. Skille has big upside, he's NHL ready, and will be a very good player for the Leafs if they were to get him. Montreal's 2nd rounder is just the icing on the cake. Chicago finally gets their 2nd line center too.

    Sharp – Toews – Kane
    Versteeg – Antropov – Havlat
    Hensick – Bolland – Ladd
    Byfuglien – Fraser – Brouwer

    extras: Eager

    Campbell – Keith
    Seabrook – Wisniewski
    Barker – Johnson

    extras: Sopel

    WOW. Thats a good team.

  10. LeafsNation91 says:

or Bolland, and watch out for Skille, he has not had his chance in the NHL yet He was drafted in the Crosby, suoertar year do not forget, and sometimes it takes time before players be goof, look at Bobby Ryan.

  11. LeafsNation91 says:

    I would do it in a heartbeat…

Do not forget we can still get first rounder for Kaberle. We do not need 3. And we can always trade the secound rounder higher for a higher secound rounder.
  12. BLUE_AND_WHITE says:

oh any trade with antropov will have a conditional pick depending on if he resigns I'd bet.

  13. Kramer says:

I'm back again! I feel so relaxed, now I can think clearly. But why does Europe have to be so cold?

  14. Kramer says:

I heard the Leafs got Brad May. I been saying for months, the Leafs gotta brawl more.

I see Antropov is still in the rumors but still not traded. Burke is slacking off too much. Its now 2 months and still no big trade. What's he doing all day?

  15. DandoEagle says:

How was the trip on the UFO Cosmo?

  16. Kramer says:

Before the cruise left I was a happy dude. But then when it left port, I remembered I was afraid of the water. And also, northern Europe is so bleak and cold. I didn't spot any UFOs at night, although God knows I checked.

  17. Sharxfan20 says:

No chance. Kyle Beach is a great player. On the other hand, if Toronto made a blockbuster deal, it might be possible…..

To Toronto: Jack Skille, Kyle Beach, Cam Barker
To chicago: Tomas Kaberle, Nik Antropov,

Both Teams would be getting some cap space. The Leafs get some great young players. Plus, the Hawks get some veterans on that team, and Kaberle would have no problem fitting in, playing with Seabrook or someone on the number one pair.

  18. RedSENS says:

Sorry but Beach is not gonna get traded he's got a tonne of potential as a power forward and is gonna be wearing the Indian Head.

  19. 24_cups_and_counting says:

How did Toronto magically obtain the habs 2nd rounder? The laughs got nothing in the way of picks from the Sundin debacle.

  20. 24_cups_and_counting says:

Never mind. The pick is from Lang. THought the leafs were giving the pick. my bad.

  21. blaze says:

It's called a trade, where do you think Lang came from.

  22. DandoEagle says:

    give me a brake!

Chris Neil has been to the Stanley Cup finals he's not complete Garbage.

Guerin is one of the grittiest and toughest leaders in the NHL – absotutely puts his nose to the grind come playoff time and has his name on the Stanley Cup.

Sillinger isn't more better then anyone in the HAwks organization but if Guerin gets traded then it is very liekely that  Sillinger goes wiht him.

So here is what I purpose.

    To The Blackhawks:

    BilL Guerin

    to the Islanders:

Akim Aliu, a second round pick in 09.

The Islanders get a gooder grittier prospect to put in the system then they have had in a very long time – and a true powerforward to play with the next great American in Kyle Okposo.

    To The Blackhawks:

    Chris Neil, Jason Spezza

    To the Senators:

Jack Skille, Cam Barker, 1st Round PIck, Akim Aliu, Nik Khabibulan

The hawks suddenly become not just gooder but lethal with the interjection of Spezza and Neil – imagine the depth – no team would stop these Hawks the Sens take back very little in Salary and solve the Goaltending problem that has plagues this team for so very long.

  23. Kramer says:

Now that I'm back, the first thing I'm gonna do is check with my secret insider trade sources to find out of Burke is up to something. It's an exciting time to be alive.

  24. mojo19 says:

I like the sounds of this Igor Makarov. Sounds like a Burke type guy…. 😉

  25. BLUE_AND_WHITE says:

its debatable whether the spezza trade is fair (and I would argue that its not), but fair or not, the hawks wont give up that much to get a 3rd top line centerman. Kane is playing the wing as it is. Its like New Jersey trading for Luongo.

  26. habs79 says:

Are you sure about that, I thought the Hawks got the Leafs 2nd rounder that Montreal got for Grabovski.

  27. mitchamac says:

Spezza will not be leaving ott….
If ott was to move one of the big three it would be heatly

  28. straight_edge says:

Heatley has a no-trade clause, why would he be moved? Ottawa doesn't need to trade for Khabbi anyways, he's a free agent next year isnt he? Why does everybody propose Ottawa get's robbed in every trade?

  29. GoLeafs13 says:

Just because Chris Neil was in the Stanley Cup Finals doesn't mean that hes good. He had 4 points in 20 games and they didn't even win the cup. Neil is just a really bad enforcer and puts up crap points. He is probably one of the replaceable players on the Senators.

  30. GoLeafs13 says:

And also you have the same player (Akim Aliu) in both trades. I'm thinking that u mean the Hawks should do both trades so maybe redo them.

  31. blaze says:

Actually I think you're right, the pick is for 2010 which is what the Leafs sent to the Habs.  It would be kinda funny if the draft pick came full circle back to the Leafs.

  32. mitchamac says:

    What about

To Toronto – Kyle Beach, Cam Barker, Dustin Byfuglien, 1st pic
To Chicago – Antropov , Kaberle

Kaberle for kyle beach and cam barker
Antropov for Dustin Byfuglien and a 1st

  33. mitchamac says:

To Flordia – Heatley, Ott 1st pic (sanjose), Ott 1st if bouwmester signs withh ott

    To Ottawa Horton and Bouwmeester

    shake it up

  34. mojo19 says:

Ya that's cool. Another interesting player in Chicago is Bolland.

  35. LEAFSLEAFSLEAFS1967 says:

If you actually learn to read it was Chicago who has the Montreal 2nd rounder and he said they should trade it to Toronto.
