Hayley Wickenheiser given contract in Finland

Hayley Wickenheiser, the first female to earn a point in a men’s league hockey game, has earned a contract for the rest of the year with Kirkkonummi Salamat, a tier-two team in Finland. I do not approve of this move, because the thought of the gender barrier breaking is bad news. What’s next? Women in the NHL? Are women going to start showing up at NFL training camps too? There’s already going to be one at a PGA event. Sorry if I sound sexist, but women have no place in mens leagues…..they have their own leagues to play in. Hayley’s considered one of the best female players in the world. Why not stay in her own womens league and remain dominant? She’s getting the hopes up for too many young girls who now think they’re gonna play in the NHL…..which HOPEFULLY will never happen!!!
