how about philly's first for dustin penner.. do you think that will do at the deadline? if not id throw in a 4th or philly's 3rd. What we got for versteeg. They have the same amount of points but penner is just a different type of player that will help our team much more then versteeg did. 1st and 3rd would be like flipping versteeg for penner.. I think thats a fair trade. The first and 3rd just fit more with edm's plan

Apparently the Preds and Oilers have a deal in place around Blum for Smid. I can't imagine the Preds do this straight so something has to be coming with Smid or a contract is leaving with Blum.

I'm sort of surprised the Preds didn't take a chance with Hagman. I'd love to see them make a move for Stafford. Maybe they use their defense depth to get a guy like Setoguchi or Voracek or they grab Bergfors.
