Great game by Jokinen last night, hope he keeps it up. Blair Jones really impressed me last night, he's turning into a really nice agitator / defensive player, he drew two penalties and irritated Thorton all night.

If the flames keep winning they won't be moving Jokinen though. I keep getting this feeling that the Flames don't sell and finish 9th or worse yet add and finish 9th.

It all depends on the market. If they can't get a second line center anywhere else, than Calgary can ask for the Avs pick. If other teams are involved, then Calgary can ask for that Avs pick.

And the more Jokinen keeps playing like last night, the more value he has.

remember that pick position goes by points not division leaders. Washington's pick will only be 25th-30th if they make it to the conference finals. Otherwise it will be 15th-20th.

The Avs pick will only be given up over the Caps pick if Calgary insists on Washington to sweeten the pot themselves.

Washington's pick might be later but who would have thought they'd be battling with Florida for the division lead / 8th in the east. There is obviously something very wrong in Washington. A team with that kind of talent shouldn't be on the playoff bubble, but they are.

Well since Washington is pretty much garanteed to win their division (I have zero faith in Florida) then their own 1st rounder would definatly be in play. Itll be 25-30th however, not 12th-20th.

I dont think they would give up Colorado's pick unless the Flames sweeten the pot.

Interesting. Hopefully it actually is another reason to move one of those three or two of them out.

Ideally I'd like to see the Flames get another 1st and a 2nd at the deadline somehow. Grab Galchenyuk with the Flames, Frk or Wilson with the extra first, and Ville Pokka with the 2nd.

I really like the Derek Smith signing 2 yrs @ 775k per. A nice affordable contract for a guy that played really well before he got hurt. Just another reason to move out two of Hannan, Sarich or Babchuk before the deadline.

Galchenyuk is pretty much the ideal player for Calgary I think. Grigorenko would probably be best but we know that isn't happening haha. If we could have him fall to like 7th or 8th and pick him there or get a top 5 pick to pick, that would be best.

And yeah a guy like Ceci or Maata would be nice. Maybe go with offense though and grab a guy like Gaunce if he's available, or a guy like Frk to get some size replacement for Iggy when he leaves.

I really, really hope Feaster doesn't stick it out and hope for the playoffs. The chances are slim to make it and do anything anyways, so taking even a year off to prepare for the future is in the best interest of the fans and the team.
