HockeyBuzz is reporting that there is tons on interest in Omark

Linus Omark of the Oilers, has been sent to the minors.. The Oilers have a ridiculous amount of young talent, and Omark is right up there.. There is a bit of a logjam going on right now in Edmonton up front, while the Oilers are still lacking on the Defensive side of the puck.

Word is they have talked to NJ, Buffalo, Toronto, and Tampa about possibly swapping a big time prospect for a defenseman…

The most likely to be moved is probably Sam Gagner, however Omark’s recent demotion has really opened the floodgates…

He can zip around and he's got good hands, but I wouldn't have too much interest in him. I'd be way more interested in Sam Gagner, who I'm still kind of luke warm on.

Cody Franson for Sam Gagner I would do.

I wouldn't I think Franson has more value than that, in terms of a bigger trade or to the leafs. I am not huge on either player. It is way busier on here today then yesterday when i was bored big time lol

Omark really isn't worth a lot right now. He's got some skill but he is a defensive liability, small and isn't fast for his size. I just don't see him being consistent enough to play top six minutes and not physical/fast enough to play a defensive role in the bottom 6. He will also be 25 in February so your not talking about a kid who isn't physically mature.

I really don't see him fitting into any of the three teams mentioned.

ide consider schenn for gagner an even trade/ upside wise and where they were drafted right

bottom line on franson is he's not playing hockey, sure the leafs defence is very good, but if he isnt better than gardiner, gunner, or aulie then he's not a top 4 d-man, and the price of gags might to high for him, remember gags was a 6th overall pick and is 22 years old, now we all know what he did in the russia series so to say he's reached his potential is a joke. watch him play a few games and you will see what your getting in my buddy Sammy Gager. oh did i mention he is in his 5th year too, a 22 year old veteran

i'll name 3 players that Calgary gave up on to early,

    Brett Hull
    Marty St.louis
Dougie Gilmour(my fave leaf of all time)
i know thats 3 good players from the Flames, and i'm just using them as an example, because i'm an oiler fan and loved seeing them get hosed in those
i'm just saying the asking price will still be pretty high for gags, we'll see what turris gets and pretty much add a 3rd or a 4th pick more for gags.IMO
