Your hypothetical relies faaaar too much on Luongo. Even Giguere couldn't win the Cup against the Devils after tooling on the entire West.

Your team would not be decent with a different goalie. You'd be just like you were with Cloutier. A playoff team, surely, But one that goes out in the first round every year.

You're not a bottom feeder, but you're not a great team by any stretch of the imagination. You'll be lucky to make the playoffs this year, WITH Luongo.

The Post-Gazette, and I confirmed it via email with some press, just in case. No one knows, but everyone theorizes is because that way minimizes on the changes in the pairings by not touching the other ones, since Scuderi is out anyway…but that subject (Gonchar and Gill pairing) privately has been the unanimous joke initiator around all the press today.

The Flames, and Oilers didn't really falter. They both did make it to game 7 against good teams.

The Canucks have a shot against any team. All the Canucks need is Luongo to shut the door in every game, and we could win. I don't think the Canucks are a good team, but not a bottom feeder like you make them sound like. They would be a decent team if they had another goalie in net and 7 million to spend on another player (plus whatever they got for Bertuzzi instead of Luongo).
