I'll always remember the shot Kaberle took in OT against the Penguins, 2nd round of the playoffs in '99 that squeeked through and sat on the line before Berezin tapped it in. Or the OT winner against Florida in '06 during the Leafs magical run that fell a point short of the playoffs (Sundin's 6 point night). Or in 2002 when Kaberle fired a seeing eye shot that went through 9 pairs of legs before squeeking out to Sundin who banged it home with 18 seconds left to stave off elimination in the conference finals.
So many great years as a Leaf. I would welcome him back if there were no salary cap, but it just doesn't make sense. Maybe as the year goes on if we could move a d-man for a forward, then I wouldn't mind moving a lesser forward for Kaberle, if the 'Canes are intent on dealing him for a "lesser" return.]]>
