Ilya Available

Now that Anahiem have made Ilya Bryzgalov available through waivers, who will be the takers?

Bryzgalov is available for what’s left of his 1.181 mil contract.

Detroit has 5.46 mil in cap space available?
Pittsburg has 11.245 mil in cap space available?
Nashville has 16.454 mil in cap space available?
Columbus has 10.4 mil in cap space available?

And the one I don’t like to see
San Jose has 10.133 mil in cap space available!
What does this mean for any trade talks between them and Les Canadien?

Not another Halak rumour here but I’m just saying…..

Incredible that Detroit has $5.46 M in cap space still available, and San Jose has $10 M!!!  They have powerhouse teams and yet have money to spare.

In stark contrast, the Leafs have a crummy team and are maxed out.  Gotta love JFJ.

Anyway, Pittsburgh and Atlanta need goaltending badly, especially Pittsburgh if they hope to be bona fide contenders.  It's almost guaranteed that someone will grab Bryzgalov this weekend.

I believe that he will get claimed by a team like Phoenix who could use him.

Also on a unrelated note Wowhockey is down, does anyone know why?

What the h*ll would "Les Canadien" want with Bryzgalov? much less make a trade for him?
If Phoenix doesn't pick him up then Gretzky is dumber than I ever thought he was. They are first on the waiver wire.

I think he was referring to the "trade talks" that have supposedly been going on between the Sharks and the Habs. I don't think he was referring to the Habs picking up Bryzgalov.

Excluding Kiprusoff, Calgary doesn't have a goalie with any NHL experience.

The yotes have picked up the goalie off waivers.

I won't be surprized but I honestly have a hard time thinking that Phenoix is going to pick up Bryzgalov. They already have THREE unproven goalies in Abby, Tellqvist, and Auld. Granted I think Bryzgalov is better than ALL three put together even. Coyotes might try concentrating on how to score and keep the put in the offensive zone instead of having a team full of grinders with a stacked defense. Sorry to say this an most fans won't a agree, but I just don't like Doan and if a team relies on him to carry them offensively it's just no wonder why they've been losing.

Teams that I really think will pick him up in order from WHO wants him the most not by who gets the pick oppertunitty.
    – Detroit. When is this team going to find a goaling to build around? I don't remember a standout goalie staying in detroit ever, in they're whole 15 years of domination. Imagine if they could land a stud like Bryzgalov to man the net. He'll only face 20 some shots a night, also he'll have to do is stop the big ones that happen to come by once or twice in a game.

-Atlanta. When doesn't this team want or need a goalie.

-Washington. Not saying Bryzgalov is any worst, but Kolzig is old and splitting the load with a goalie like Bryzgalov would be great for Kolzig, especailly if this team wants to make a serious run in April.
