IS CUJO FINALLY GETTING HIS NEW CONTRACT?

Reports from the Toronto Star, that contract extensions are in the works for goaltender Curtis Joseph, who is in the last year of his contract. This needs to get done. Earlier in the season, talks faded and many wondered if Cujo was going to have the same fate as his old team, the Edmonton Oilers, put him in, but I don’t see that happening. Rumour has it that his Toronto Maple Leafs are possibly putting a 3 yr deal together worth $9 million (U.S.) a season with an option for a 4th. At Cujo’s age of 35 this could mean he will be a Leaf until he is 39. This will also make him the highest paid keeper in the NHL. As long as Toronto gets this deal done I will be happy. However, Toronto needs to sort out the depth problem in goal, but I am sure that will be taken care of sooner or later.
