Yashin everyone knew was just a floater and knew a long term contract was just a big long lazy river for him to float on.

Dipietro... man when is that guy gonna retire or the Islanders force him to retire?

Yashin take two and .... mark.

If they get this for the 10 mil/season than they will have roughly 18 (?) million tied up into three players, two of which arent even playing (one MAYBE this season)

What happens when Tavares and Okposo reach the end of their entry level? (2 and 1 season away)

If DiPietro comes back soon (at very least the 2011/2012) than its not so bad but if DiPietro is out past the 11/12 season this team is going to suffer. Ya they have a lot of cap space (something like 27 million) but they also have something like 14-15 players under contract at the moment. Plus DiPietro needs to come back and perform after missing X years.

Theyll have Kovy but theyll be out of the playoffs or wont be contendors for the cup. It all depends if DiPietro can make it back soon, if DiPietro is as good as he is suppose to be with that contract and if they can get some more players while still keeping Tavares/Okposo...

They are trying to sign Kovy to get people in the seats by having names on the jerseys not a team on the ice...

The Islanders are the perfect example of why long term contracts can be very bad. Two examples even. This could be "third times the charm" or it could just go south again.
I hope they get them and I hope the Islanders become a respectable team in the NHL again.

That Wang has balls(pun intended)! You'd figure after getting the short end of the stick on those first two big contracts he'd shy away from others, but I guess not. Hope it works out for him this time!
