As a Devil fan: this deal sucked for us, because it made the Flyers alot stronger and they gave up nothing to do it.

Stan Fishler on the trade: It was a steal for the Flyers who gave up on Comrie who is a "waste".

It was the Flyers who should have given up two or three players just for Burke, instead Clarke got a great goalie, an Young All-Star and a strong prospect for a 4th line player who can't play defense.

This was a STEAL

Phoenix has better, and more hockey knowledgable ownership in the form of a man that shattered every offensive record the NHL ever knew of.

I'm not saying the Rangers have an excuse, but had Sather had a more hockey knowledgable owner to have to look up to, he'd be making genius deals like he did in Edmonton, and we'd already be a contender if we started over like he would have, had not Neil Smith created a huge mess, and Dolan (Rangers owner) got so involved like George Steinbrenner with the Yankees.

Bottom line is... something's gotta give.

Comrie IS too small and NOT tough enough for the East. St. Louis has a lot of heart that is the biggest difference between he and Comrie.

Burke may have one or two years left but he has a better chance of winning the Cup in those two years. This was a steal for Philly.

In the words of Stan Fishler: "The Flyers got Burke for nothing. Comrie is a waste".

I am not questioning Bob Clark’s Character. I think he is a good GM and I am a HUGE fan. I just thought he gave up too much in trading Comrie, though I must say I really don’t know much about these two prospects. Hopefully they turn out to be good. Though now that I think about it maybe it isn’t as bad as a trade as I initially thought. I am not big on Burke at all. I think they would be better off with the young Fin goaltender, though for the Flyer’s sake I hope I am wrong. It wouldn’t be the first time…

I don't believe that Comrie was too small to play in the East. Want a reason Why? Martin St. Louis in Tampa. He is 5 years older than Comrie and a full inch shorter. Comrie has the potential to be just as good if not better in the next five years. He can skate, maybe not as fast as St. Louis but pretty damn close. St. Louis in 01-02 had 35 pts and then in 02-03 had 70 points. Comrie was on pace for about 35-37 pts if he were to play a full season and that is in hitch's defense first system which will stifle any scorer. You can't tell me he's too small to play in the east, and I don't think you can claim he is a spare part, because how many people made those claims against St. Louis only to be proved wrong. Comrie is a fast skater with good hands, and a welcomed addition to any team, in my opinion Coyotes made out like bandits, especially since Burke has maybe one or two years left tops.
