tHE FIRST ROUNDER MAYBE A POSSIBILTY DEPENDING ON A FEW THINGS, LIKE YOU SAID HOW HE IS PLAYING, WHO ELSE IS INTERESTED AND WHAT OTHER IRONS IN THE FIRE THEY HAVE? the first rounder will be late so they may not mind? I mean they got a 2nd & 5th for Gill. Sorry about caps use them at work.

If they are scouting him, hopefully they were watching him yesterday.

If Poni keeps scoring at a pretty regular rate, and he's up around 25 goals at the deadline on a pace for around 30, then you'll for sure get a 2nd rounder + something, be it a 5th or a medium prospect, whatever.

And maybe, just maybe, you could get Pittsburgh's 1st rounder, but I'd say that's unlikely.

I was suggesting Frolik….from a skill set standpoint. I threw Campbell in more as a "Burke" type player. Also good on the PK from what I heard and look at Fla as a possible goaltending solution. However that maybe done by a UFA?

The most shocking thing about this is that Lamiorello drafted him. His whole thing is drafting based on character on and off the ice. Cormier must be one hell of a charmer off the ice to have won over Hockey Canada AND Lou Lamiorello….

I think Philadelphia is a more tempting trade partner for Vancouver. Philly needs a long term solution in net, and cap space (and maybe a pick to replenish the Anaheim fiasco). The Canucks could use some younger scoring talent, and another D-man:

To VAN: VanRiemsdyk, Coburn
To PHI: Schneider, Salo, Grabner, 2nd in 2010

And then I envision them managing to snag Holmstrom from Detroit this summer:

I know Gillis and Burke are not on good terms but I would love to get Hodgson in a deal for Kaberle and I think Vancouver would love to have T-Kab. Maybe some kind of package including Hodgson, and one of Cory Schneider or Jordan Shroeder.

I think Kaberle ends up in Florida….call it a hunch, but this is my guess. For Markstrom, Campbell and a 1st. Or in a salary dump trade which Fla would have to give extra up. Vokoun, Campbell, Frolik and a 1st. Rumour has it they they wanna dump Vokouns salary and it will cost the to do so. LOL….waiting for the shots to be given.
