Karpovtsev signs with Panthers
The Florida Panthers have signed defenceman Alexander Karpovtsev to a two-year deal, Sportsnet has learned.
The 34-year-old Russian played three games with the New York Islanders and 24 with the Chicago Blackhawks. In 590 career games, he has 188 points.

just a veteran presence or someone to fill in if a defenseman is moved in a deal?
I think he’s way overrated, if I were you I’d be happy he left so your team can spend that cash on something other than a defenseman that a team like Chicago was so desperatly trying to get rid of.
I’ll always remember him as the guy that brought the leafs Bryan McCabe. what a steal!
