i,ve always hated Tkachuk. all the fans in Winnepeg rejoice.

definetly overrated, what has this guy ever done in the playoffs.

he Tckchuk, keep your head you fat-bastard, or Iggy will turn out the lights.

  2. LeafyMcLeaf says:

    Funny…

The player who fails a physical cuz he’s over weight…

    Is American…

    lol just kidding guys.

    SUPER SIZE ME!

  3. JannettyTheRocker says:

    hahaha…….nice comment.

  4. 19AVSFANFoLIFE19 says:

lol i saw that hes made way more then hes worth why should he care

  5. NemiNA says:

Thats what you get for eating cheetos everyday during the lockout.

  6. wingerxxx says:

It doesn’t surprise me that Tkachuk is having problems with his conditioning, considering that he is a bigger boy and had a year off from hockey. A lot of the players will likely need some time to get back into the swing of things, so I don’t believe Tkachuk is alone here. I did read somewhere that the Blues have a “weight protocol” or something like that written into Tkachuk’s contract…which is very interesting. It’s probably just a way of backing up their investment in him. He’s going to be a vital part of St. Louis’ success this year, considering they are thin on the wing. And when he is on, he is still one of the top power forwards in the league….solid gold on the power play. So I hope he gets back into shape soon. Hopefully a couple of tough weeks on the bike will straighten him out.

  7. lindrosfan says:

Was he overweight by 10lbs, 20, 30??? If it’s 20 or less, then I say that the Blues are over reacting (typical Mike Kitchen), but if it’s more, then I say good for Tkachuk.. he’s been around long enough to know that being an NHLer is serious business and that younger players will be nipping at his heels.

  8. Marky2Fresh says:

Bet they regret not buying him out now.

  9. wingerxxx says:

I tend to agree with you. I think that by the time the regular season begins, he’ll be fine weight-wise, but it might take him a little while to get himself accustomed to going full-strength on the ice again, since he is going to miss a good chunk of training camp. He should be fine in the long run though, unless he’s gone all Marlon Brando on us.

  10. titans says:

Like he didn’t know months ago that the NHL was coming back! Why didn’t he get into shape in the last few months.

Of course me…always in shape. My friends call me Adonis. I’m a stud.

  11. NemiNA says:

Agreed. If you know the games gonna get more competitive and FASTER than why would you NOT work out everyday? He’s not going to pound out 30 goals if he’s not in top shape.

He’res hoping he’s in top shape, for the Blues sake.

  12. NemiNA says:

    Studly like Woody Allan!

  13. Jesus_Piece says:

I heard that he was upwards of 40-50 lbs overweight…..

  14. Jesus_Piece says:

    You sure about that?

  15. Hockey_Fan_99 says:

lmao they should have bought him out

  16. Jesus_Piece says:

Cheetos are awesome, who can blame him for eating them everyday?

  17. Linden_Rules says:

He’ll still get paid his 7.6 million though, won’t he?

Maybe we should have a new stat… $/lbs

I read 50lbs. overweight as well and, assuming that is true, that is WAY out of line. I could understand 20 or maybe even 30 but 50lbs – that is a lot of twinkies and coke there.

  18. wingerxxx says:

Wow. Now about 20 lbs. or so I can see. But 40 to 50…that is just ghastly. If that is true, I wonder what he could have been thinking. If they want him back to his normal playing weight, he’s gonna be gone for a while.

  19. wingerxxx says:

Where did you read that he was 50 lbs. overweight? I’m extremely curious.

  20. wingerxxx says:

I’m still scratching my head as to why they traded Pronger’s rights, and kept Tkachuk and Weight. I’d love a good explanation for that one.

  21. leafy_luca says:

I wrote the same article this morning…didnt get posted

  22. Bretzky says:

    lmao @ both posts

  23. Aetherial says:

    Ahahahahahahaaahahaahah!

I hate Tkachuk, he is right up there with Alfredsson as one of the punks in the league.

  24. LeafyMcLeaf says:

    Ya, Keiths a bit of a dork…

  25. WeedIan says:

Did you have links to the sources?

  26. Kraut182 says:

Tkachuk’s bio has his weight at 231, so 50 lbs. overweight would make it 281. Seems a bit high, but if its true then I can definitely see why the Blues would suspend him.

  27. wingerxxx says:

If that is true, he would be flat out obese. It’s just hard to imagine him pushing 300 lbs. I would still like to read a source that puts him at 50 lbs. over.

  28. dcz28 says:

I have a hard time to believe that he is 50 pounds over weight…i cant find any site that mentions the exact weight so until i see a site that says that i dont really beleive that…with that being said he had to be in bad shape for them to suspend him for it because as they said in http://www.stltoday.com

Why Tkachuk failed the Blues’ medical exam is unknown, but it’s important to note that players have failed team physicals in the past and not been suspended.

I think we will know more in the next few days and if the guy that posted the 50 pounds has a link i would like to see that article but it is probably written on a Blog or something with no sources or is just a guess

  29. wingerxxx says:

I’d like to see a link for a good source claiming that he is 50 lbs. overweight as well. You’re not the only one. That would essentially mean that Tkachuk is pushing 300 lbs. It’s really just unbelievable. Until I see something verifying that, I just don’t know if I can believe it.

  30. Jesus_Piece says:

I heard it on the Fan 590 like a month ago.

  31. Jesus_Piece says:

I heard it on the Fan 590 like a month ago.

  32. Sands says:

listen buddy calm yourself down. Sorry you live were you live. Don’t hate.

  33. JannettyTheRocker says:

Hey Sands, don’t take offence…….I was just laughing cause it was a funny comment…………Truth is, LeafyMcLeaf always says “smart” stuff like this. Don’t let it bother you.

  34. bleedingblu says:

I heard on Mojo radio that he was 25lbs over weight.

    Get on the treadmill!

  35. Byzzy says:

The Blues are in a downward spiral now.

1- Al MacInnis is done (50-points defenseman)

2- Chris Pronger is gone (60-points defenseman)

3- Demitra is gone (30 goals winger)

    4- Weight’s 7 million is not worth

    5- Tkatchuk = wasted money for a selfish 30 goal-scorer

6- Lalime, while being good, can’t win games by himself

7- Prospects are mostly defensive rearguards… No young offensive wingers in the spotlight

In 2 years, St-Louis will be among the worst teams in the league. Mostly because they have builded a hockey team à-la-Rangers…difference being that the Rangers have plenty of young wingers to mix with their stars. The Blues have to start re-building and get prospects ASAP!

  36. wingerxxx says:

Yeah, I hate to say it, but the Blues are really in for a long year potentially. But I don’t think all is lost for this coming season just yet. Tkachuk might just have had a huge fire lit under him. And when that guy has some motivation, it’s scary. I actually think that Tkachuk could have a better year than most people think. Jackman, Brewer and Backman really need to carry the defense. And Weinrich is very smart back there as well. They have a not-too-bad top 4.

But they have to find a winger to develop some chemistry with Weight. Tkachuk isn’t the answer, he’s not a perimeter shooter. Their special teams are going to have to be absolutely on this year for them to do much damage, I think. But I do think that Pleau knows he needs prospects, as evidenced by the Pronger trade. I just think he traded the wrong guy. It should have been Weight or Tkachuk.

  37. GreatWhiteNorth says:

He’s actually 30 lbs overweight, not 50. Even 30 lbs is WAY too much.

  38. GreatWhiteNorth says:

    Tkachuk is a punk.

This does nothing except disresepect the St. Louis Blues organization, fans, and especially the players. He’s the 2nd highest paid player in the league and he shows up 30 pounds over weight? That’s one of the most selfish things I’ve ever heard a hockey player doing. Does he just not care because the Blues are in rebuliding mode? I don’t know what would make a player of his calibre show up so overweight. If I was a Blues fan I would boo him everytime he touches the puck. The Blues couldn’t trade this guy for a bag of pucks. He’s overpaid and overweight.

They should have bought him out when they had the chance. Then maybe they could have kept Pronger, who has done so much good for the organization. I really don’t see the Blues’ GM surviving this season.

Pronger or Tkachuk? What was he smoking when he picked Tkachuk?

  39. GreatWhiteNorth says:

I heard it was 30lbs from Leafs lunch on Leafs TV. They spoke about it for awhile and their sources (which are more reliable than ours), said it was 30lbs.

I can’t understand a player coming in even 10lbs overweight. They had over a year off to get into good physical condition, there is NO EXCUSE for that garbage, especially a 7 million dollar player who is supposed to be a leader for the young guys.

As to his salary, he won’t be making that while he’s suspended. Until he gets back into shape and passes the physical, he won’t get a dime of that.

  40. GreatWhiteNorth says:

    It’s the truth though.

America is the fattest nation in the world. Americans are extremely overfed and they eat the most fast food in the world. These are facts, he’s not just pulling it out of thin air.

It is VERY funny that an American player shows up 30lbs overweight.

  41. GreatWhiteNorth says:

You guys are making too many excuses for him.

There’s not just excuse for showing up that overweight. He can afford the best trainers, equipment and suppliments in the world. If I can stay in decent shape with my little weight set and my stationary bike, mr. Millionaire should be able to stay in shape, which is part of his JOB.

  42. GreatWhiteNorth says:

    Damn right they are.

They could have kept Pronger, or signed some of the higher paid free agents.

What a joke the St. Louis Blues are turning into thanks to their idiot of a GM.

  43. distance7 says:

Well, it isn’t a good explanation, but the Blues’ owner apparently didn’t want to have to buy out their contract and then pay other people to come in. Since he’s trying to sell them and it’d be cheaper just to have them on instead of handing out large sums of money to these people.

That’s what I’ve heard, at least.

  44. wingerxxx says:

That sounds a little better. There is just no way I could imagine Tkachuk pushing 300 lbs.

  45. GreatWhiteNorth says:

I’ve heard that he was over 300lbs during a golf tournament during the lockout. He doesn’t really stay in shape outside of hockey.
