KINGS AGREE ON NEW TWO-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH GOALTENDER DAN CLOUTIER

The Los Angeles Kings have reached an agreement on a two-year contract extension with Kings goaltender Dan Cloutier, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced. Cloutier, 30, was acquired by the Kings from Vancouver for a second-round selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and a conditional selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft on July 5, 2006. The 6-1, 195-pound native of Mont-Laurier, Quebec, has a record of 1-1-0, a goals-against-average of 2.67 and a save-percentage of .907 in two preseason appearances with the Kings and he finished with a record of 8-3-1, a goals-against-average of 3.17 and a save-percentage of .892 in 13 games with the Canucks this past season, a season that was cut short due to injury

At the end of this season, when the Kings miss the playoffs, I guarantee LA fans will wish Cloutier was hit with a 2-foot extendo instead of a 2-year extension.

The Kings will make the playoffs. Cloutier has always been great during the regular season, it is the post-season where he has been a nightmare. L.A. has a great young team, a perfect situation for Marc Crawford. Crawford has a proven track record of turning teams around in his first couple of seasons as head coach.

I doubt they make the playoffs. The west is so competitive.

Which of the following teams will NOT make the playoffs to let the Kings in?

    Calgary
    Detroit
    Anaheim
    San Jose
    Detroit
    Vancouver
    Dallas
    Edmonton/Minnesota

The canucks didn't make the playoffs last year.  Here's what they did in the offseaseson:
Replaced Jovo with Willie Mitchell and Rory Fitzpatrick.
At forward they replaced Bertuzzi and Carter with Pyatt and Bulis.  The only upgrade to the team was getting Luongo.  He goes from the Panthers of the east to the Panthers of the west.  He'll win the Vezina if he gets this team into the playoffs.

Ortep, apparently u know little of hockey. I'm not going to bother arguing but the canucks are going to make the playoffs with room to spare. He'll get the Vezina if they go deep or if no other goalie plays spectacular to win the cup. I won't say the nuks are gonna win the cup because u'll just laugh. Anyways when they do i'll get to laugh at u!

  7. papichulo71 says:

The vezina is rewarded on regular season play.  So if the canucks were to make the western finals or if they get blown out of the first round it'll make no difference based on the award criteria.

Being that a team can only qualify once, I will take one of the 2 Detroit’s you listed.

    What do I win?
