argh parrish is a solid 35 goal scorer i think in the new nhl and sopel isnt that bad offensively. sucks for la they had to give up tambellini.

  2. NemiNA says:

Good for LA. They needed a big scorer cause Roenick’s not what they wanted, and Bure wasn’t even there. I like Tambellini and now I’ll watch him play against the FLyers 8 times a year

  3. zane says:

    great job kings ………

  4. bleedingblu says:

    Good move by LA.

Why didn’t JFJ go for Sopel? That’s the second time he slipped by him.

  5. JannettyTheRocker says:

    A little off subject but………

Team Canada is currently beating Team USA in baseball 8-6 in the 7th inning.

  6. 19AVSFANFoLIFE19 says:

i stopped watching after the 6 run 5th

  7. Marky2Fresh says:

    Who won that trade?

  8. JannettyTheRocker says:

I just can’t stop watching. I don’t think Canada has ever won anything in baseball……………except the Blue Jays and their two world series. But that’s not the same.

  9. gohabs73 says:

fair trade… LA becomes a real contender in the West.

    for those wondering:

Grebeshkov (D) and Tambellini (LW) are respectively ranked #1 and #4 as LA top prospects by

  10. LeafyMcLeaf says:

Nice deal, but Tambelinni looks like he’s gonna get good. Grebeshkov… never heard of him.

  11. toronto77 says:

    i would say LA

  12. skidragoon says:

At least there not as stupid as edmonton giving a 1st rounder for a 36 year old at best NO.1A goalie

  13. skidragoon says:

PS. Luckily I am not some annoying little brat and won’t msg every post that disagree’s with my beliefs and flame it! *cough gretzkid i mean gretzkin*

  14. GaryPuck says:

This could come back to bite the Kings later.

Trading two 1st round picked players before they have developed could be a bad idea. We’ll see what the Islanders can do with them.

  15. JannettyTheRocker says:

You’re an idiot. Edmonton gave a mid-first round pick that will likely turn out to be nothing, as this years draft is suppose to be weak, for a goalie who improves the Oiler’s chances at making a run for the Stanley Cup……………..A first round pick doesn’t always mean you’ll get a Sidney Crosby or Alexander Ovechkin. Seriously, you need to think before you speak……..It may turn out that Minnesota drafts the next “great one”, but the probability is unlikely. So Edmonton would like to try and win now. I say……………GO OILERS GO!!!!!!!

  16. JannettyTheRocker says:

You’re not a little brat who flames everyone???? HAHAHA!!!!! What, do you think I don’t remember you. You are definitely one of the most immature people on this site.

  17. Gretzkin says:

He’s too young and capable to play for the Leafs.

Why waste the best part of your career?

  18. Gretzkin says:

AWESOME, I just turned it on.

    Thanks for the Heads Up.

    Top of the Ninth…

The islanders fire sale begins. Good for 3 reasons

    1. They aren’t making the playoffs this year, and even if by some miracle they do, they aren’t going to get past the first round. (And I’m an isles fan)

    2. Sopel makes over 2 Million dollars. His numbers with the Islanders are abysmal. Only now has he shown any signs of life (which was actually good cause it got him traded) and was “injured” recently on top of it. We free up 2 million and keep bouchard up for the rest of the year. Next should be Lukowich. Lets hope he’s next.

    3. Young talent. In order to rebuild, you need it. Two first rounders, and we shed cap? I’ll take it.

  20. Gretzkin says:

Best All Around Team in the NHL.

I used to see them go down 2 goals, and never worry about it, because they are the best come back team around.

Now, I’ll just have to watch them win without the drama.

    I can live with that.

  21. cementhead says:

…yeah, and on top of that he may not even come back to Edmonton next year!!!

  22. Gretzkin says:

    I’m a 31 year old little brat…

    Another reason:

Luke Richardson is not on the Oilers.

    bottom now. 0 outs

    Francouer up

Takes ball 1 grounded out to short on second pitch.

    Lee up

1-1 now as i write this. Grounds out to third on third pitch

    2 outs Alex Rodriguex up

Strike 1, Breaking Ball for STRIKE 2. 1 MORE PITCH LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. Outside in the dirt ball 1. count is 1-2 with 2 out. Outside again 2-2. Arod popped up shallow center and stern bobbled it and now arod is on first.

    2 outs Mark Teixeira up.

  27. GaryPuck says:

The Oilers probably won’t even make the playoffs. Stop getting so excited about a team that is mediocre at best

  28. JannettyTheRocker says:

That’s just fine if he decides to leave Edmonton. I’m sure we can sign a free-agent goalie if Roloson decides to leave……..But it’s Edmonton. Everyone wants to play here, so I’m not worried about him wanting to leave.

  29. cementhead says:

…and you don’t have your first round draft choice – that hurts.

  30. Gretzkin says:

    That’s incredibly good.

USA what’s your National Pastime again?

    Oh right, Baseball…

    Wha WHuunh

  31. marcs797 says:

go ahead make fun of the american baseball team all you want lol, baseball is about as much fun to watch as someone reading.

  32. dave1979 says:

doesnt matter as edmonton wont even make the playoffs..i see anaheim stealing 8th from them

  33. Gretzkin says:

Are you trying to make a joke?

I’m not sure people will get that one, you might want to reword it a bit.

Here let me give it a shot:

“I’m GaryPuck, I’m hilarious, now I’m going to try to tell a funny joke because I’m GaryPuck, and the girls will want to go out on a date with me because I’m Mr Funny GaryPuck, with all of the funny jokes… oh no, I wet my pants because the Leafs just traded for Luke Richardson…

(*crowd laughs at GaryPuck standing on the stage in his soiled pants, as he starts to cry and goes home to his empty apartment to talk to his cats…)

Poor GaryPuck, it didn’t have to be that way!

    huge deal

  35. Scruffy05 says:

Theodore has just been sent to Colorado for David Aebescher!!!

I guess the Avs don’t think tehy can make the playoffs:P

  36. Gretzkin says:

Someone reading about how Canada beat the US in baseball, you mean, right?

  37. corky says:

I am very happy! Good job Kings

  38. chingpao says:

It seems like LA paying the NYI with 2 former first round picks for someone who is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year, and an underachiever in Brent Sopel is a bit pricey. Someone else posted that these 2 prospect are rated #1 and #4 in the King’s system. Unless Sopel plays ahead of expectations and they sign Parrish, they’ve depleted their farm system for little gain outside of Parrish’s scoring ability for the playoff push.

  39. Gretzkin says:

    Where have you been Scruffy?

I though you did a great job at (not) defending McCabe while I was away on my two week HTR Suspension.

    Nice to see you’re back!

  40. Scruffy05 says:

We just bought a German company… my workload soared through the roof.

You think I was going to miss out on deadline day? (22.5 hours away!)

    Nice to be back Gretz.

  41. ranger_fan says:

You have got to be the most immature 31 year old I have come across. The Oilers are not the greatest team in the NHL, nor the most talented by any means. Sollid, yes. Roloson will give them some stregnth in nets. I think they could use another offensive weapon. But what do I know? I am just a Ranger fan who will be bashed in… oh lets say 25 seconds by someone who is constantly refreshing to see who responded to the almost funny “jokes”

  42. Realistic says:

Dude, you need to think before you speak…you just gave up a mid 1st round pick for a 36 year old career backup. Don’t dis this guy for questioning the trade, I know am. I want the Oil to get a good keeper, but there are way better options out there that are either cheaper or not much more expensive.

For a guy who is critical of other teams fans for getting overly excited, it didn’t take much for you to start planning the parade.

Here’s to Van City, CowTown and Edmullet having good playoff runs!

  43. Realistic says:

Wow, you (Gretzkin) and that Jenetty guy sound like the Leaf fans you mock incesantly!!

I hope Roloson helps the Oil make the playoffs, but easy on the chest pounding (and the namecalling…why is someone an idiot or a moron because they do not share your opinion), he is a 36 year old career backup!

  44. thatleafsguy says:

Nice pluck for the Kings…seemingly nice pluck for the Islanders aswell.

  45. Gretzkin says:

    And Congrats!

  46. Gretzkin says:

Reading between the lines, it looks like you’ve given the Oilers a nice compliment.

Anyhow, I think they’ll add some firepower as well.

Oh, and you responded didn’t you?

  47. Gretzkin says:

I never called anyone an idiot, or a moron, nor am I pounding my chest.

I’m just having a little fun.

    It’s the Trade Deadline.

The difference between me, and the Leaf fans I mock so incesssantly, is that I can admit if my team stinks.

If the Oilers were as horrible as the Leafs truly are, I would be the first to admit it.

I’m just rubbing a little much deserved salt into the wound of Leaf fans.

As if they don’t deserve it, they’ve been so arrogant for so long, and for what???

I’m going to tame it back down soon, and just post the intelligent, relevant information that I do so well soon enough, but it’s just too much fun at the moment.

Anyways, well done on the Richardson deal!

I certainly hope that that isn’t the end of it, or JFJ and Leaf Nation will look even stupider (if that’s possible at this point)

  48. SabresFan220 says:

Pretty even trade for both teams. I just wonder if this is a precursor to the Sabres trade rumor Eklund made up with Roenick and Cammalleri going to Buffalo for Biron? I don’t know how reliable it seems, but LA just added 2 players to the roster, maybe because they were planning on dumping 2 others.

Rumors are just rumors, I mean I read about a crazy one involving Martin St. Louis going to Buffalo for Biron. Supposedly Jay Feaster offered St. Louis to Chicago for Khabibulin and they said no. According to the rumor, Tampa is desperate for goaltending enough to offer up St. Louis for Biron. If Darcy Regier got a call from Feaster offering St. Louis for Biron, I’d hope he’d get that deal done fast before Feaster woke up and realized how drunk he was. Not to mention Buffalo plays Tampa Thursday night, a very weird deadline day situation.

  49. WestcoastbiasJason says:

Um no…the Kings have on of the deepest farm systems in the League. I don’t know where this # 1 and 4 came from. Tambellini is a number one or 2 guy but the Kings have two guys that they are higher on… namely: Anze Kopitar and Lauri Tukonen….both playing in Europe, both studs. SO there farm system is far from depleted. They had 7 or 8 of their first round draft picks in camp this year and now have five or six…. not so bad.
