Koivu's future uncertain

Today tsn sports reports that “Koivu uncertain if he’ll ever play again”

This is pretty bad even if he is pretty overrated and a great player. I think is was a very good player but not a great player.

But always sad to see this happen to a player that love to play the game and might have to leave on this trems.

Koivu said “I don’t know why that is,I have to force it to open it up, I can’t do it on my own”

His eye isnt the best but it might get better or might stright the same we’ll have to wait and see if he can ever play again .

I don’t see why he couldn’t play with 1 eye if worst comes to worst, Berrard does it.

  2. habswinthecup-again says:

Oh boy aren’t you a freakin’ comedian? If you are going to say something stupid like that, don’t say anything atall.

  3. Marky2Fresh says:

I wasn’t trying to be funny, Berrard plays at a high level with only the use of 1 eye.

I think you’re just overly sensitive

  4. Steve362 says:

Dont post things unless you are positive.. you are not aloud to play if you have less then 75% of your vision… berard has 87%… it would be ridiculous to think someone would be able to play with one eye.

and while we are at it Berard only has 2 r’s not 3.

  5. SJ_Sharks_Fan_19 says:

    who’s Berrard?

  6. Marky2Fresh says:

I like how you make a strong point, then get really petty at the end.

he will play again he wont let that stand in his way.

I wish Koivu a full and speedy recovery. The articles states that he won’t know his status for a few months. Saku deserves his privacy until he knows for certain if he can resume his career.

  9. navajo says:

What’s wrong with what he said? Berard got it WAY worse than Koivu. He doesn’t have 100%, so he stated that. I really don’t think he was trying to be funny.

  10. navajo says:

Koivu is definately the poster child of what could go wrong in a career. I hope he gets better too, it’s a 5hit way to go out. The weird thing is he wore a visor, so what are all the visor pushers saying now? Full face? Maybe thats the answer?

  11. Marky2Fresh says:

I think a full face would do more harm then good, because if the NHL does allow it, it will be optional. Then I bet you see a bunch of guys using the cage as a weapon against guys with nothing or just visors.

  12. Rico420 says:

It would be to bad to see Koivu end his career this way especially seeing as he’s the best Habs captain since Kirk Muller…

i second that, altho i aint a habs fan, there is honestly nothing i can say bad about him. He went through tremendous hardships to get back in the nhl, only to get screwed over yet again. Koivu i wish u a speedy recovery, best of luck

talk to the folks who said he shoudnt have roughed up ribiero and was booed for his troubles

  15. bakunin says:

I beleive the NHL should have a talk with Justin Williams, i mean he need to control his stick better… the very next game after the incident on koivu he did exactly the same thing on Markov’s face hard enough to make him bleed…

Ive played hockey and i beleive accident happens but when you raise your stick and fail to hit the guys stick, you automatically stop your movment, its supposed to be like automatic. If you miss it and you can’t stop it before it is over your shoulder then you have a serious problem because when you do make that move, even if you pull it fast, it will never reach an opponent’s face without an extra pulling effort when you reach your shoulder.

In fact the 99% of the time, it happens when you check an opponent in the corner’s and the guy don’t see it comming or when he fall.

I beleive this is why the refs didn’t saw it when it happend.

    hahaha exactly

  17. skandelousHABSfan says:

Koivu wore a very small visor which only covered his face till the middle of his nose.

I would suggest if someone is going to wear a visor, it should be one that can offer more protection. The one that Heatley wears is much safer. he chose to wear that after damaging his eye. i hope that it wont take more eye injuries for people to start smartening up.

I wish Koivu a speedy recovery and hope he returns to the ice to play another day. If he can’t, and calls it a career, expect that $5 million freed up to make Gainey a big time spender in the offseason and sign a big name free agent center or trade for one.

reba is such a lame show

  21. Marky2Fresh says:

Hence why he should send in his resume

Isn’t WAY too premature for him to start talking like this? It’s only been, what, a month? I think he just needs to give it some time (not that I’m a doctor or anything) and not expect too much too soon. I met Saku a couple of years ago here in Toronto and he was nothing but a class act, and even if he wasn’t, you still hate to see a guy go out like that. I think he’ll be alright.
