Latest Canadiens Update
Canada.com is reporting that Mathieu Schneider is another free agent worry for the Montreal Canadiens.
It is noted that although Mathieu Schneider is expressing his love for the city of Montreal and his desire to play for a few more seasons it is unlikely that his playing days with Montréal will extend beyond this season if he is not willing to take a mega pay cut on his present contract of 5.65 million.
It is also interesting that the Canadiens are willing to play “hardball” with Komisarek on his present contract situation. It is noted that Montreal is not going to negotiate with him and will allow him to test the free agency market.
One other note is that with the addition of Mathieu Schneider, big defenseman Ryan O’Byrne is likely on his way back to Hamilton of the AHL.
