Latest Canuck rumors

The Globe and Mail is reporting on the latest rumors with the Canucks. It is reported that the Sedins and management are still far away on new deals, that eh Canucks are talking contract with Burrows and there are rumors that the Canucks may look to target several key free agents this offseason.

In the case of the Sedins it is reported that the Canucks are still about 1 million apart with each of the Sedins on a base contract rate but also have a disagreement on the length of the contract. Complicating the situation is that the Sedins come as a package so it is reported that the Canucks and Sedins are really 16 million dollars apart.

Another player, Burrows really wants to remain a Canuck and it is reported that the Canucks are looking to get a deal worked out soon. Burrows has been nothing short of a bargain for 550,000 per year.

Of interest is that it is noted that the Canucks may look to target several big names come the summer if they can not resign the Sedins. The two targets include Michael Cammalleri who used to be represented by Gillis and Marian Hossa, who is very close to Pavol Dmitra.
