Latest Rumors in NHL
Wanna know the latest rumors on some teams? Well i have some on Calgary, Tampa, New York, Colorado, Blue Jackets and Florida. Calgary: Marc Savard asked for a trade last season… he wasn’t traded. He told the team he no longer wants to be dealt… so he’s still a member of the Calgary Flames – for now. Speculation continues to mount that Savard will find himself wearing a different jersey in the coming weeks. One report suggests the Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, Vancouver Canucks and New Jersey Devils have all shown interest in the centerman.
Tampa Bay: Tampa Bay general manager Jay Feaster stomped on a rumor he might trade Keefe to the Florida Panthers. “I can put that to rest absolutely, positively,” Feaster told the St. Petersburg Times. “I have no intention of trading Sheldon Keefe. As for the rumor we’re trading him to the Florida Panthers, if that happens you’d better check the skates the devil is wearing because hell will have frozen over.”
New York: The New York Rangers continue to shop defenseman Tomas Kloucek in hopes of acquiring added offense.
Colorado: According to published reports, the Colorado Avalanche are apparently unhappy with the poor play of young forward Alex Tanguay and might consider moving him. Colorado is said to be looking for a big forward and might be interested in Brad Isbister of the Islanders.
Florida: The Florida Panthers are still looking to move winger Valeri Bure, while center Viktor Kozlov could be another possibility. The New York Islanders have apparently expressed interest in the two, and NY Newsday states that Panthers coach Mike Keenan never misses the opportunity to praise Dave Scatchard (currently an Islander), whom he coached in Vancouver. Isles’ GM Mike Milbury recently threatened to make changes if the Islanders’ poor play continued, but has yet to make good on it.
Also, the Columbus Blue Jackets’ GM Doug McLean is interested in Rangers Radek Dvorak. However, Dvorak will stay as a Ranger with the new line of Petrovicky-Nedved. Starting to work well, great game against the Oilers. I read the article from the Columbus Dispatch*.
